Anyway, I remember getting A Kind of Magic when it was first released in 86. It's probably my most played Queen album, I had a coloured double vinyl of Live Killers, that got a lot of play too.
True Queen Fan, I'd seen an article years ago make the claim that Freddie wrote We Are The Champions as a gay rights song. But since Freddie never said that, I'm with you, I doubt it; maybe the writer made it up, as a way to support his own agenda. And if it was, it's very funny how instead it got adopted as an anthem for sports teams AND nerds (as in the movie Revenge of the Nerds).
Under Pressure, now that's obviously one. I cringe everytime I hear it. Especially the high notes. From The Works album (1984) forward (Under Pressure was 1981), Queen made the best music of their career...and it had the fewest high notes (Freddie, that's just not natural). :)
It's a great song but I have a doubt about it all my life.
