A House Lyrics
it was a day like this and my house burnt down
and the walls were thin and they crashed to the ground it was a day like this and my life unwound you could've struck me a line and that's okay now we could always put it together again you could've told me a lie, and a lie so thin, so thin now everything's clear day after day and the life goes on and I try to see the good in everyone if I ever find myself here again I'll give everything

Really, it's about being reminded of something in your life that pretty much destroyed you, and just trying to keep going, and being determined that if you ever get another chance, you will make the most of it.

I belive this song ( off their debut album ) may have a lot to do with the fire that had happened prior to them writing this album.
The fire destroyed 3 years worth of work. It burnt down their studio, so they reformed the band and kinda ironically called themselves The Doves. Can almost picture some white doves flying out of the charred ashes, eh?
"If I ever find myself here again, I'll give everything"
That single line can really pull you through some sick times...
