Lyrics for If We Can Land A Man On The Moon, Then S... as interpreted by kittenfactor

If We Can Land A Man On The Moon, Then S... Lyrics
I'll fight...
If you want me to fight
I'll laugh..
If you want me to laugh
and cancel out the sun..
I will.. I will.. I will

Cause all you need is a pretty song..

If you wanna sing
Tell me what you wanta sing
and I'll play..
Yea, I'll play
Speed it up or slow it down
and if you want we'll change the sound
Yea, we'll play..
Yea, we'll play..
Anything that you want
All we want from you
Is a word or two..

and even though
We dont show
We cast our nets like missionaries
If we sell out.. Oh well..
Our only fan will be changing costumes..
And you'll see its much the same
So sing a song
And for applause.. We'll get up, get up

If you wanna sing
Tell me what you wanta sing
and I'll play..
Yea, I'll play
Speed it up or slow it down
and if you want we'll change the sound
Yea, we'll play..
Yea, we'll play..
Anything that you want
All we want from you
Is a word or two..

Yea well do anything as you want
So please dont go and break our hearts
Yea Yea Yea Yea
Uh Uh Uh Uh

All fight.. if you want me to fight..

i'm pretty sure this song is just a little joke to the fans :) its just about wanting people to listen to their music

i really like the beginning of it though... the rest of it seems like it's for/about the fans (or lack thereof?), but the first stanza makes it seem like a love song, almost...
anyways, regardless, i really like this song... it has energy, a great melody... ah, i love it!
also, my dad thinks they sound a lot like the early beatles here, does anyone agree?

I think they're definitely beatles-like....which is partly why I like them so much...(i have both of their albums) and I'll give them credit...their beatles-esque sound shouldn't be their only claim to fame(if they ever get it) anyway....everyone should hear this band...at least once...this is my favorite song from them, easily!!

I didn't even think about it being Beatlesish, but I can definitely hear that. This song is just peppy (that's such a horrible word, I know!, but it's true) and fun. This is exactly why I love to find random songs from bands I've never heard of and download them!

I used to think this song was a joke, but I think that they're half serious in this. One of their new songs, Wipe Those Prints And Run, talks about how they want to be famous and kinda threatens to break up if they don't get some. They mention fame and things often, and it makes me feel disappointed in them.

ahhh interesting... i just made a comment on the poet William Blake... and I find this band. Beulah was one of William Blakes worlds, he blieved there was like 4 or so, beulah was where innocense was lost, and experience is gained!

I think this is my favorite song, something about the melody just sticks with you and you have to listen to it over and over again

This isn't about them wanting fame. Not at all. This is about how ridiculous it would be if they did everything to please their fans. Because Beulah put it with beautiful melody, it tricks some people into thinking they are serious. It's a nice tune, but the words don't mean shit.

This song is not about a band. Just look at the title. It's obvious. The whole thing is a metaphor for trying to win over a girl.

I think the general consensus is that this song functions on two levels.
One is a sort of Fuck You to the critics, sarcastically saying that they don't care what they write or do because Beulah will do exactly what Beulah wants to do.
However, on another level it could be a love song, pure and simple, the type that Beulah has professed to hate.
Also it's "I'll fight" at the end

first i thought this song was about a guy in a fairly unknown band singing to his girl, saying like 'we'll play if you want us to play'.

I agree with the two levels theory.
