One love
One heart
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
One love (oh, Lord, have mercy)
One heart
I tell you, let's just salsabrate (let's join together)
And I will feel alright (and I'll feel alright)
Let's join together and I'll feel alright

Now, let them all pass all their dirty remarks (one love)
There is one question I'd really like to ask (one soul)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save the soul?

One love
One heart
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
One love (hear my plea)
One heart
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
Let's join together (thanks and Praise to the Lord)
And I'll feel alright (and I will feel alright)

Let's join together to fight this holy battle
So when the man comes there will be no, no doom
Have pity on those whose chances grows thinner
There ain't no hiding place when the king comes along, yes

One love (hear my plea)
One heart (whoa)
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
One love (oh, Lord, have mercy)
One heart
I tell you, let's just salsabrate (let's join together)
And I will feel alright (and I'll feel alright)
Let's join together and I'll feel alright

One love
One heart
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
One love (oh, Lord)
One heart (ohh)
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
Let's join together (give thanks and Praise to the Lord)
And I'll feel alright (and I will feel alright)

I tell you, let them all pass all their dirty remarks (one love)
There is one question I'd really like to ask (one soul)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save the soul?

One love (oh, Lord, have mercy)
One heart
I tell you, let's just salsabrate (let's join together)
And I will feel alright (and I'll feel alright)
One love (hear my plea)
One heart (hear my plea)
Let's join together and I'll feel alright
Let's join together (give thanks and Praise to the Lord)
And I'll feel alright (and I will feel alright)

Guys, music is about expression. You don't have to take this song in a religious context, a song does not have to be about what the artist meant it to be about, its about whatever you relate it to. Neenzabeen, just because someone believes in God does not mean they believe in religion, I don't believe in religion, but I am searching and wanting to believe in a higher power. Relax man, so you don't believe in a higher power, does that mean everyone who does is an imbecile?

god does not have a concrete definition. to marley and any others who may associate themselves with a certain belief system, god might have a "religious" significance. to any others, interpret god in a more abstract way. personally, i understand god to be moral perfection, and therefore whenever marley sings "give praise to the lord" i think of it as a metaphor for his emphasis on the importance of morality, justice, pureness of heart (and all other things associated with godliness). in any case, with that said, its fairly obvious that the meaning of the song is his plea for the people of the world to discard petty differences such as race and religious differences, and concentrate on the good in humanity. create a harmonious and unified world with no hatred. one <3 ~ Che

you wouldn't find all atheists/agnostics incosiderate and rude. you probably have limited experience with irreligious people, mainly including 13 year olds who are angry at there religous parents.

I feel pity for the comments to this song being so opposite to the mesage the song tries to pass.

geez just because the man was religous shouldnt hurt his music at all. unlike most christians bob marley actually made the most sense. This song to me is about trying to unite the world in peace and passing our differences aside (money, color, religion, etc...)

It's about the need he feels for world peace, and how there is no need for war.

id just like you to all stop think marley did this for you christians. what do you think jamacans and rastafarians dont believe in god. how full of yourselves are you. he was wrote the song under his religious beliefs. i dont see him mentioning jesus anywhere. i think the main idea of the song is for people to try and work for the same goal, like if some one in the world is hurting where all hurting. he tries to unite us by getting us to feel like a team by working under the same god. god in this song is just the buety of life i think, or at least it is 2 me cuz im also atheist. so atheist dont feel disconnected from this song

Accepting religion when you are born outside of that religion is difficult. I know it personally. And I think the religious don't realize how they look from the outside in. But the people can never represent the faith, only the spirit of that particular faith can represent itself. I don't think people should identify themselves with a faith for this reason. When you remain neutral, you can see much more of the world than you ever knew existed.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
