One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right
Hear the children crying (One love)
Hear the children crying (One heart)
Sayin', "Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Sayin', "Let's get together and feel all right."
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One love)
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own?
Believe me

One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning (One love)
So shall it be in the end (One heart)
Alright, "Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
"Let's get together and feel all right."
One more thing

Let's get together to fight this Holy Armageddon (One love)
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (One song)
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation

Sayin', "One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right."
I'm pleading to mankind (One love)
Oh, Lord (One heart) Whoa.

"Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Let's get together and feel all right.

"Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Let's get together and feel all right.

General Comment:this song is actually all about the Rastafari practice of Reasoning. Its just sitting around while smoking the Sacred Herb while giving thanks to God and recognizing "I and I" which is the oneness of humans and God and the equality between all humans. He is just saying that we should all be able to get along together. yayyy :)

Song Meaning:Anyone who thinks this song has anything to do with the God of Abraham, issac, jacob needs to listen to Get Up Stand Up will hopefully realize that Bob Marley wasn't a fan of modern day religious establishments. Bob Marley doesn't believe in Jesus Christ and he makes this very clear in several of his songs. Don't get so hung up on words like GOD. This word has many different meanings to a lot of different types of people. The God of Abraham just so happens to be one of them and if you Christian want to listen to Bob Marley then go right ahead but please don't manipulate and cheaping this mans greatness. In the Words of Bob Marley himself and I quote ( Preacher man don't tell me Heaven is under the Earth, I know you don't know what life is really worth. Isn't all that Glitter is gold half the story had never been told so now you see the light you should stand up for your right, come on!!!! Most people think Great God will come from the sky take away everthing and make-a-everybody feel high, but if you know what life is worth you will look for yours on earth and now you see the Light you better stand up for your right!!! Were sick and tried of your ism-skism game dyin and goin to heaven in a Jesus name we know and understand almighty God is a Livin man you can fool some people sometimes but you can't fool all the people all the time so now we see the light we gonna stand up for our right!!!!!!!!!!!!

General Comment:Also don't forget that in the Rasta tradition, smoking marijuana is done as a sacrament to the Lord. So the line "give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right" makes a lot of sense. No arguments here :)

General Comment:I personally don't believe in a religion, and I still LOVE this song. I think you can take the religious refrences as whatever you want them to mean, God, peace, just a higher power, whatever. There is no need to argue over it. I may not believe in religion, but I believe in peace and this song is amazing. Bob Marley kicked ass! I wish I could've known him.

    Peace and Love!!!

My Interpretation:funny, but about the fourth line of the second verse, I always thought he was singing "just to save his home." I'm not saying the lyrics are wrong at all, that's just what I always heard when I was listening to it.

General Comment:I feel this is such a great song because it is a very straight forward song with simple lyrics but has so much meaning and truth to it. This song is so powerful, this song puts me into a peaceful state of mind whenever I hear it or listen to it.

I don't think that any of us can comprehend how at peace Bob Marley was and what his music can actually do to society as a whole. This man was brilliant and I'll leave that as a final statement.

General Comment:This has to be my all time favorite song ever. Marley was such an intelligent man, especially when it came to his beliefs on World views. He has been and still is a huge inspiration in my life. I have a tattoo next to my heart that is a tribute to him and his influence to me. I feel sorry for those who want to do harm in the World just to make it in their own view.
