Lyrics for Suite: Judy Blue Eyes as interpreted by pablo

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes Lyrics
It's getting to the point where I am no fun anymore, I am sorry.
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud, ‘I am lonely.'
I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard.

Remember what we've said, and done and felt about each other, oh babe, have mercy.
Don't let the past, remind us of what we are not now, I am not dreaming.
I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard.

Tearing yourself away from me now, you are free and I am crying.
This does not mean I don't love you, I do, that's forever, yes, and for always.
I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard.

Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret. Are you still listening?
Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart and I love you.
I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
and you make it hard, and you make it hard, and you make it hard, and you make it hard.

Friday evening, Sunday in the afternoon, what have you got to lose?
Tuesday morning, please be gone, I'm tired of you what have you got to lose?
Can I tell it like it is, listen to me baby-
it's my heart that's a suffering, it a-dying and that's what I have to lose.

I've got an answer. I'm going to fly away, what have I got to lose?
Will you come see me Thursdays and Saturdays? What have you got to lose?

Chestnut brown canary, ruby throated sparrow,
sing a song, don't be long, thrill me to the marrow.
Voices of the angels, ring around the moonlight,
asking me, said, she so free, how can you catch the sparrow?
Lacy, lilting lyrics, losing love lamenting. Change by life, make it right, be my lady.

What joy Cuba brings to me,
The Queen of the Caribbean Sea.
What sunny skies they have there,
And how sad it is that I cannot go.
Oh go, oh go, go.

According to:

http://www.followthemusic.com/60s.html

"I woke up one morning to some chaos, and there was Judy Collins nude in my front yard. The yard had a high wooden fence and succulents, and there was Judy with her clothes off and a photographer. They were shooting the album cover for "Wildflowers." They ultimately came into the house. She was sitting on the floor, with some clothes on now, by a curtained wall with light coming through the window and one of my exotic brass vases with some dried flowers in it, and that became the back cover. The nude pictures were scotched.

Also at the Ridpath house I introduced Judy to Stephen Stills, and that resulted in their romance, and their romance resulted in Stephen writing 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.' "

This is my favorite song of all time. It will def always be. It calms me down. It's such a nice song. I love CSNY. I can't wait to see them live, even though it's 2003, it'll still be awesome. I wish I lived in the 60s. That would have been great! :o)

I grew up with this song played on the way to our remote camping destinations.... along with woodstock, ohio, guenivere, etc. And seeing them in concert was one of the best moments in my life.....

I just watched "woodstock", and even with jimmy hendrix, this was the best song on there. I think that the "please be gone I'm tired of you" line is a bit bitter, but the song is just so soothing...

The spanish piece means (something like this):

How happy it makes me to think of Cuba,
the smiles of the Caribbean Sea,
Sunny sky has no blood, and how sad that
I'm not able to go

very, very good song. The whole 'So Far' album is very good.
Oh go, oh go go

Isn't this just a great song? The Judy is Judy Collins, who dated Stills for a time. I love the Spanish part. Thanx sooo much for the translation.

This part is about how the U.S. stopped allowing citizens into cuba (of course) but i think it is saying it makes him said when one person (the U.s.) shuts out another (Cuba).

this is one of the best CSNY songs out there, on a par with Ohio. It is a very nice blend of sound and lyrical action

Laughter the key to your heart... This song is about love in any sense - the way you now see someone or the remembrance of how they were or are. It is about wanting to expose the heart that lost but respecting someone else so it chooses to be a separate entity. It is about almost attaining someone, as if people can be attained, and nevertheless just wanting to be with someone. The chorus - the breakdown is the best in history possily.

i cannot believe the spiritual connection I feel when watching them perform this song in Woodstock. this song is so multifaceted, as is the band. it allows all of them to shine in some way. you feel every emotion that each word evokes. my favorite line has always been "thrill me to the marrow" -- thats love.

i heard this song in a coffee shop and i had to know who sang it!! (def. not from the 60s generation though it would be fun to have lived through it)
i looked all over the net and asked a couple of people, finally i asked my dad who did grow up in the 60s...all i asked him was that there was this song that goes "doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo..." and he named it that second!! duh i should have asked him earlier!
cause i love this song, it rocks!

Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret. Are you still listening?

What's the secret she's got?

Do you think this song is about a past relationship or a new relationship?

this is possibly the most beautiful song i have ever heard.

observer01: it is written about his relationship with judy collins (known for her piercing blue eyes). stephen stills later stated that he knew at the time of writing & recording it that their breakup was "imminent". technically they were still together but the relationship was coming to a close.
