Lyrics for Ask Me How I Am as interpreted by dwizhaffa

Ask Me How I Am Lyrics
Has nobody asked you how you are?
You look like you might not last the day
I wouldn't have made it very far
So we'd make a good team right away

I've not made amends for yesterday
My lip won't get me out of it
Waking up dreading hearing tales
Of all my nightmares being true

I take a breath and grab the phone
Secretly hoping you're not home
I'd leave a message I was out
Out of my mind on drink and drugs

I love this song, particularly
"waking up dreading hearing tales
of all of my nightmares bein true"
completely refelcts the feeling of waking up after a night of boozing with hazy memories of what you've done or said and wishing you could go back and erase it!!

Does anyone know what is being said in the chorus, when the chick is singing? Are they actually saying something, or just singing (like la la la lal la)?

Fantastic video by the way. Love this song. Always makes me think of a time when Snow Patrol were carefree and they were just having great fun.

I think this is an amazing song. Especially the first line: "Has nobody asked you how you are?" If people have just forgotten about you (and not asked you how you are) you're just gonna feel more and more terrible!

Garys problems with illicit substances (very posh) are a great material for bitter songs. I d leave a message I was out...out of my mind on drink and drugs. Just a sour image of a guy who doesnt care anymore. Not one of their best songs but still amazing.

THe thing about Snow Patrol songs is that they look back retrospectively. The dark days were there. But mostly they're gone. No more falling down stairs or three day Guiness benders. It's over now.

This song fits how I feel when I'm self-conscious and overthinking when high or drunk. You just want someone to ask you if you're okay and really care if you're okay or not.
