It looks like this is about his childhood. When his parents divorced when he was 9, it was very hard for him. His family ment a lot to him, and when his father was gone, most probably thoght it was his fault.

I think this started his whole depression thing. Many of his songs are about that! For example "serve the servants" (i tried so hard to have a father but nstead i had a dad.)

yeah, maybe he felt his parents were ashamed of him, because he dropped out of school, and shit like that. She always felt he was the reason his parents divorced, maybe because he thought at that age that they were ashamed of him....

I think that this is about Kurt's view of his parent's thoughts as a child. I think that he believed he was unwanted as a child.

The song's basically just about Don Cobain (I forget his name ... XD If I'm wrong, screw it) and how he was treated in his childhood, and how Kurt feels about it. Later in his life, Kurt kind of...basically...hated his father. So maybe this song was just kind of a revenge.

I kinda think the line is 'leave this form before you thru, i;ve got nothing left to prove' as oposed to 'leave the check...' as it sounds nothing like what he's singing

Whos to say exactly what this song means, or any song for that matter...Kurt said himself he didnt know what most of the songs were really about. And he lied about what they supposidly meant to confuse people, true kurt....
