One thing is for certain though, he was the creative force behind bungle, not mike patton. the way he talks, it has bungle written all over it.
Especially in the second verse - it can be literally how someone stays in the press and the public eye by faking deaths etc. and then when the public see no repercussions they do the same themselves:
"The deaths were faked, the laughs were cries
But resurrections are doing fine
You got me walking into suicide
And I'll be there right by your side..."
And then after all the death metal stuff, the rest is about how the celebrity loses their popularity and either wants to get their huge message across about their life or wants people to worship them (in desperation) so they can continue.
Thoughts?
This song sounds religious in nature to me but the hell am I to say? The NASA thing is an interesting theory too. It comes down to that we have no idea, just like most what else Mike Patton writes. There can be so many meanings to lyrics like these. Don't drive yourself crazy people.
I believe this song is about using death as a tool of persuasion like all the martyrs throughout history that have the same exact history as Jesus and were equally important to other early religions because all organized religion is an imitation of sun worship and astrology.
Well, you believe that than that means you also believe that organized religion is a conspiracy for control of the masses to keep people from understanding that god is just another word for the experience of sameness of everything.

Duality is a prevalent dichotomy in our understanding of reality which boils down to every single thing in our every day life. But you must understand that the on and off,1-2,black white, everything nothing, is not in conflict with itself and that on=off and 1=2 and so on,
they are actually exactly the same while being the opposite.
Like a reflection in a mirror exactly the same but the opposite.
Which is interesting in this case since of course duality applies to life/death by the same rules which ends up being like a crazy cosmos reincarnation cycle of everything same insaneness
