    General Comment:Actually, this was a song written by John when he was in High School and the reference to by Nine was his parents rule. His Band had to be out of the "BASEMENT" by nine. That is where the song comes from.

    General Comment:When you hear old recordings of John back when he used to play at coffee houses he often says something like 'i only have time to play one more song for you because they're gonna kick us out at 9'
    so I think this song is alluding to having to finish his set by 9
