Leif and I are on the train to New York in car 1399.
There's a guy with a quarter in his ear and I've seen Leif only once in the past two months.
His hair is sticking up a little in the front. He's losing it just a bit.
When I get home tonight I'll miss him in Hampshire.
I'll miss his glasses and the way he writes in purple pen, the way his collar falls to the left.
Have you seen his ankles lately?
I know he's next to me.
I feel his sweater here, but when I'm sleeping it's only green sheets and the hair down my legs.
I think I'll write you, Leif, when I'm near Tuesday, sometime before you go and I'm back on the train.

General Comment:this is possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written. it reminds me of...well, i dont want to say 'my boyfriend' because i feel like thats too..
cliche(?) anyway, he is my boyfriend now, and an AMAZING person, and just the way that Chris talks about Lief, its how i feel about him. and how ill always feel about him

General Comment:Andyrax..yuor an idiot. Anyway... I saw an interview a while back and Chris said this song is about a homless man he would see everytime he went on the train, the homless man's name was Leif. "hes losing it just a bit" means hes going crazy. "have you seen his ankels latley?" He sleeps on the streets with his body covered by a blanket that stops at his ankels, like almost all homless people. So yea, thats what its about.

General Comment:This isnt about drugs. Chris was on a train with his friend leif and just wrote while on the train about it. I believe talked about it in a interview a couple times. :)

General Comment:You idiots...this song is obviously about drugs. Leif aka "Leaf" and Chris are on a train. Chris is smoking out on the train. The guy has a quarter in his ear and gives Chris part of it. Chris has only smoked twice in the past two months and as a result of that "he is losing it just a bit"(his mind). From this point on Chris begins to hallucinate about purple pens, collars and ankles. He falls asleep and the only thing in his mind are "green" sheets, symbolism for the dope. When he gets home he will miss the drugs, and will write the dealer(man with the quarter in his ear) for more drugs on Tuesday.

General Comment:why doesn't ne one notice the way his voice is in ne of his songs. that's the best part of saves the day music. his voice is something else and can't bematched. he doesn't have the most beatiful voice but it sure is nice to hear someone sing with that much heart.

General Comment:You guys, aren't very smart.

He misses his friend. He's not Bi.

And as for "Handsome Boy", it wasn't even written in Chris's perspective. It was written in a female's perspective.
