How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew
If I knew how you do it to me
I'd do it to you
How do you do
What you do to me?
I'm feeling blue
Wish I knew how you do it to me
But I haven't a clue
You give me a feeling in my heart
Like an arrow piercing through it
I suppose that you think you're very smart
But won't you tell me how do you do it?
How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew
If I knew how you do it to me
I'd do it to you
You give me a feeling in my heart
Like an arrow piercing through it
I suppose that you think you're very smart
But won't you tell me how do you do it?
How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew
Wish I knew how you do it to me
I'd do it to you
Wish I knew how you do it to me
I'd do it to you
Wish I knew how you do it to me
I'd do it to you

General Comment:Gerry Marsden should get down on bended knees and thank The Beatles for their interpretation of this Mitch Murray song. Murray intended this to be sang in the skip-a-long style favoured by Adam Faith at the time. Gerry wisely followed The Beatles version and got himself a number one. George Martin deserves massive credit for sticking with John and Paul.

General Comment:Yes, George Martin gave them this song to do because he didn't think they would have a song of their own to record to make a good single, but thankfully John and Paull pulled Love Me Do and Please Please Me out of their hats. They did this one in a recording session for that reason, but didn't care for it at all. Thankfully they never used it and passed the song off to some other group... their first single did so well! But, they did do a good job with this recording, even if it lacked...

General Comment:This song was almost The Beatles's first single (instead of Love Me Do).
