Black and gray clouds willow in the balance as the sun falls.
Rain plays a heart warming tune, on the pavement.
Emotions stir.
A feeling of warmness, compassion, fullness, I feel at home.
Disguised by surroundings.
As the torn and left in the gutter seek vengeance on their mistreated lives.
As the torn and left in the cold, seek vengeance on mistreated lives.
A silhouette stands still.
A cactus on a warm summer night.
But the rain falls cold and the moon shines bright.
Black as night.
Cold as ice.
Warm as home.
Ready to live.
Stars they shoot.
In a clear.
Across the sky.
As does my time.
Waiting, wanting, feeling, emotion.
Crying, breaking, loving, nothing.
Clouds swallow the moon, and I’m alone, thinking good times, and why'd they go?
Falling down, breaking down parts of me.
Fuck. I need this place to get away from you.

Cold as ice.
Warm as home.

Crying, breaking, loving, nothing.
Clouds swallow the moon, and I’m alone, thinking good times, and why'd they go?
Falling down, breaking down parts of me.

"The cactus in the warm summer night" possibly symbolizes a desert, where rain rarely occurs. Even so, the narrator is caught in a storm of sorrow, something that shouldn't be happening to him. The lines saying "waiting, wanting... etc" show that he isn't satisfied with his new life and wants to go back.
The rain clowds, or his sorrow, swallow the moon which is his last light or last shred of hope, as he reflects back on the good times when his life was better. He thinks about trying to go back, but realizes he has to get away from everyone and stays in his world of sorrow.
Also, I love how he sort of randomly shouts "FUCK" at the end. I kinda lol'd the first time I heard that, lol'd again reading the lyrics to find out he actually says it XD
don't hurt her, clouds swallow the moon, is when he's becomes the monster, he's oviously in pain, but glad he got away from his loved one
I got into a7x way way back in 7th grade and didn't really know about the old stuff for a few months, but once I heard this it was my favorite. I listened to it once (8th grade maybe) when I was outside and it was really windy out, this freaky calm before the storm weather that really fit the mood, and I smoked for the first time (and the cig broke in two somehow haha)
...I really don't know why I decided to tell that particular random story. Point is, this song is amazing.
i cant really get into much of the song...but it all obviously lead up to the 'Clouds swallow the moon, and I’m alone, thinking good times, and why'd they go?
Falling down, breaking down parts of me.
Fuck. I need this place to get away from you.' part and it reminds me about the relationship i have with me family and the way the pulled me away from all my friends. great song.
This song is about solace and haven.
[i need this place to get away from you] the lyrics are about his surroundings while he was reflecting on how things used to be[thinkin good times and how they go]

You can only come out at night.
Obviously.
