The Way That He Sings Lyrics
why's it so strange when they say that the world's movin upwards?
Why's it surreal when my hands feel they cant roll the dice? Why's it so great just to wake every day, alive and by your side. It's a mystery I guess, there's lots of things I cant find. Its not the way that you look, but your move that catches my eye. Why's it so soft when the cannons unload on the others? Why're we so loud when we say it wont happen to us? Why does my mind blow to bits every time they play that song? It's just the way that he sings, not the words that he says, or the band. Im in love with this soul, it's a meaning that I understand.

The song talks about how when others feel pain, we ignore it, bad things won't happen to us right? It's something intangible that rests outside of these events, (the way he sings) that evokes emotion in us and makes us feel pity, love or joy for another person. His mind blows to bits when they play that song because the feeling of connection that, in my opinion, can only be conveyed through the collaborative effort of music, words and voice, is too much for him to handle. Simply hearing someone else singing and expressing some emotion that the lister has felt before is where human connection and understanding is taken to a totally different level.

and this is the first time ive thought this after really reading all the lyrics, but i'm really thinking it also has something to do with war/violence in the world and how we're so lucky "just to wake everyday alive and by your side" and not be affected by it most of the time..."why's it so soft when the cannons unload on the others, why're we so loud when we say it won't happen to us..." when it happens to others we aren't very affected and it seems like it could never really happen to us but it could and we should think about it more instead of just saying it won't happen and ignoring it. so if i'm right, either he's talking about that and also talkin about something else - this singer/song. or it's some really random meaning that only he knows. but i really don't think it's just as easy as he's talking about being in love with music. of course he is but i think there's a way deeper and unexpected meaning here
hopefully someone feels me on this...

I think this song is SO meaningful. It speaks to how I relate to MMJ & to music in general. This song asks questions about music and love and the value and appeal of each. Some people think it is ALL lyrics. In fact it is something intangible. " it's just the way that he sings. Not the words that he says, or the band. I'm in love with his soul, it's a meaning that I understand".
Music is love. You can not always disect or explain it.
