This song, oddly enough, describes how I feel about My Morning Jacket on a superficial level, but it's more about something almost unreachable- a beauty on the edge of consciousness.

No Butterroll, That's exactly what the songs about, the unexplainable draw to things, song, people, etc. It's that Je ne sei Qua quality that it's about, that aspect that can't be pinpointed. Je ne sei Qua, Miggity? Is that Japanese for je ne c'est qui? Butteroll sure sounds like an arsehole, but when you use empty phrases like that incorrectly then you give his poser accusations some credit. I know he wasn't talking about you but I'm sure he'd happily apply it to you also.

To me, it always sounded like "Now he gon' run run, now he gon' run run."

Regardless, though, this is such a beautiful song, and has been noted by others, has really come to take on how a lot of people think about Jim James now, including myself.

A lot of people might not understand why you love MMJ so much (of course the band and the words ARE a huge part of it), but it's just the way that he sings. Jim James is able to connect deeply with you as a listener with each and every time he sings.

I think it's saying "he don't know, no." Which would be a precluding answer to all the questions posed in the song. Quite simply, no one knows. Music's emotive effects are inexplicable.
