Lyrics for Hey Jude as interpreted by Ice

Hey Jude Lyrics
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder

Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, (make it Jude) ooh

Na na na nananana, nananana, hey Jude... (Repeat X amount of times)

Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Ju- Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y oow-wow

THE SONG IS ABOUT HEROIN, don’t be so naive, the Beatles were the biggest band of the 60’s, the couldn’t ruin there reputation with a song about heroin, the song being about Julian son was an elaborate front, now read every line and listen to the song with the effects of heroin in mind

lol i actually can see why you could interpret it like that. But I highly doubt that's what it's about. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was blantantly about LSD so I dunno why theyd not want people to know a song was about heroin.

I love this song though, I think it's better than Yesterday. Always makes me smile when I hear it, especially after i get pissed off with all the blink182 and hip hop shit thats around today.

I thought, when I first heard it and every time since...until I read abt it actually being abt John's son (which I believe and am not trying to despute) that this was about a boy who had the potential to really fall in love with a girl, if he would only give it a chance and let her in. Like, let down his guard. But wow it has been so interesting to read abt all the other views on it. It does disappoint me, however, to think that these songs which have so intensely inspired me, are all about drugs. As such, I try not to come to such a conclusion. :)

(In the way I saw it..."Take a sad song" referred to the boy being lonely and afraid to let the girl affect him, because he was too afraid of getting hurt by her. But love is about the risks and Paul was trying to say that it's worth it. And even though this was before I knew the true meaning, I wanted to put it up here to see if anyone thought it even made sense, b/c no one I talk to cares abt the meaning of Beatles songs lol...which, btw, I LOVE THEM!!!! oh, and I am in love with Paul McCartney.)

Oh, and I love the line "For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder." omg!! I have been so baffled and blown away by the genius of Paul's lyrics (along with John's and other beatles'...but I must admit Paul is my favorite)!! I've been trying to think of how one can come up with such clever turns of phrases that work and make sense! And I am continually amazed at how Paul could write this and have it work with the rhythm when he's rhyming in the middle of the next line rather than the end...it reminds me of the style of Edgar Allen Poe in The Raven. This song just moves me. I love love love it. Oh and the seven minute version is the bessssst bc this song is too wonderful to end EVER! i seriously will repeat it on my ipod over and over, even with it being so long! Okay and that is all. I will stop imposing my ridiculous thoughts upon cyberspace :P

hahaha
some of your guys' theories are so funny
i mean, i see how you could maybe get that the song was about heroin or devil worship (?!)
but paul himself has said on record what the song is about and that it is for john's son julian after john's divorce

"When John and Cynthia split up I felt particulary sorry for Julian. ... I thought, as a friend of the family, I would motor out to their home and tell them that everything was all right: to try and cheer them up. I had about an hour's drive. I woud always turn the radio off and try to make up songs. ... I started singing, 'Hey Jools ... don't meake it bad, take a sad song and make it better. ... It was optimistic, a hopeful message for Julian:'Come on, man, your parents got divorced. I know you're not happy, but you'll be okay.' I eventually changed 'jools' to 'Jude'." Paul said this about this song.

This is just a song. It can be understood many different ways. In my opinion this song may be about heroin. All the words fit. It seems to me like a junkie is going through withdrawl.

hey jude, Don't make it bad.. aka don't let withdrawl start.

Take a sad song and make it better... inspiration from the drug.

Remember to let her into your heart and then you can start to make it better... Life seems better when your high, when heroin is injected it goes through the vein and passes through your heart on the way to your brain.

Dont be afraid to meet dealers, go out and get her(heroin is offen referred to as her).

Let her under your skin about the needle.
and then begin to make it better,
Instant bliss is felt seconds after injection... also stops withdrawl.

Anytime you feel the pain... Of withdrawl
Hey jude refrain... Shoot up
Don't carry the world on you shoulders.. Apathy from heroin.

For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.. People who are physically addicted to the drug and act like they can just stop make there lifes miserable and "colder"

Just my opinion.
P.S. lots of artists have written songs about things they havent done...
There just lyrics..

The song was written for Julian. There is no doubt about that. John, and Paul went on record about it. There were people out there that tried to see some underlying meaning to a number of their songs.
Believe it that sometimes there was no underlying thoughts.
A duck is just a duck - nothing more.

Good song, one of the only Beatles songs I like lol

Except that when they say "Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get" I always think they're gonna say "laid" lol. I don't know why, but I do.

One of my all time favorites. I believe there's meaning on a number of levels here.

The song begins with Paul directly addressing John's son Julian, offering consolation in the aftermath of his parents' separating: 'remember to let her into your heart' as if to say yer mum's there for you, don't shut her out.

After that it gets less specific to Jules and more abstract, while seeming to address John himself. 'you were made to go out and get her (yoko)'...'fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder' these definitely evoke Lennon.

But then he sings 'you're waiting for someone to perform with' and then it becomes blatant. 'don't you know that it's just you, you'll do', you're gonna be okay, you'll be a success on your own.

But on another level, this second address also goes out to Paul himself, who as John's counterpart in the Beatles faced a similar predicament as the group was breaking up, and perhaps at the time was also thinking about hooking up with Linda.

On another level, the meaning of the words hardly matters, it's the overall sound of the music, the melody, chord progression, instrumentation, the vocal delivery...it's a song of consolation, and encouragement and of joy of music itself and the uplifting power of music. The effect of the song, and particularly the Beatles' recording of it, transcends language, I think.

What I find particular cool is that the song begins with something very specific, he's singing to a little kid, a lone voice a capella starts..'Hey...' followed by plain piano chords, then some tentative tambourine notes, a heartily strummed acoustic guitar, gradually the band and more reassuring voices join in, John singing harmony with Paul, it becomes really festive, then calamity breaks loose with the double orchestra and the na na na na's....so the song begins as a direct, personal sentiment to a kid, with Paul as a sort of avuncular voice, and then gradually progresses toward a sentiment that is massive and universal, and with every beat the music wonderfully echoes this progression.

Saint Jude:

Called the Forgotten Saint, the parton saint of hopeless causes, and sometimes confused with Judas Iscariot, the betrayer of Jesus.

Just another possible angle to the song!
