Lyrics for Hey Jude as interpreted by Ice

Hey Jude Lyrics
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder

Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, (make it Jude) ooh

Na na na nananana, nananana, hey Jude... (Repeat X amount of times)

Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Ju- Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y oow-wow

Oohoo my my my...

Ooo, ooo oo

Now Jude Jude Jude Jude Jude Jude, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Oh nanananananana cause I wanna

Nananananananananananananana ow-wow

If the lyric was, in fact, let it in and let it out, perhaps the heroin thing would make a bit more since. But it's let it out and let it in. If they were talking about using a needle, I don't think they would've reversed it. The lyric instead could be encouraging Julian (and everybody else the song was supposed to relate to) to try and love, and be loved. "Let out your love, and let it her love." Eh... that sounds a bit far-fetched, but I like it more than the drugs thing personally.

And as far as "remember to let her under your skin," well, come on, "under your skin" is a common phrase. The more usual way of putting it would be "don't let her get under your skin" of course, but I think Paul was just being original and changing the meaning of the saying a little. He's telling Jude (Julian) that he shouldn't ignore his feelings and build a wall around himself, but that he should try to accept it.

Er... "let out your love, and let IN her love."* is what I meant. It's kind of the whole "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make" Paul later wrote. Sorry if my comment's confusing. :\

This song is excellent until the real lyrics stop. Then it gets pretty bad.

Ive not checked out the other 156 comments,so I may be repeating someone else...as stated, this is a Paul song written to comfort Julian Lennon during his fathers marriage break up.Its sad to think that although John could write stuff like "beautiful boy"(for Sean) it needed Paul to write a song for Julian!

Wilson Bryan Key (the subliminal-advertising guy) had a big long thing on "Hey Jude" in one of his books where he basically reiterates the proposition that the song was about heroin. I thought he was spouting bullshit then and I think he's spouting bullshit now. Actually, what I heard was the song was really Paul talking directly to John (not Julian), counseling him not to be afraid to "go out and get her" - that is, Yoko Ono. (This would have been before all the tsouris caused by Ms. Ono's wanting to be something of a fifth Beatle.)

Lol. First off, I don't know who the bloody hell Yoko Ono is aside from that she's John Lennon's wife. I like this song a lot and it is probably one of my favorite songs by the Beetles. I love them which is probably my boyfriend's fault because I used to hate them. I didn't used to have a respect for oldies. Boy, was I ever stupid. Anyway, I definitely see how this could be about Julian accepting Yoko as his new stepmother. It's such a great song! Makes me think of myself and how I felt when I got a stepfather.

I have nothing against the beatles but i think they're trying to send a message here to do heroin.

I heard this is about heroin, but im not gonna say thats what it's about. If it's not, we all must seem pretty low when really Paul was writing for a good cause. regardless, a beatles gem.

I HATE THIS SONG! THE BEATLES ARE THE MOST OVER-RATED BAND IN HISTORY!!!!! They are not rock, they are just a silly little pop band from the 1960's. Get a life! And get Metallica's Master of Puppets album! That's what real music is you faggots!!! (No offense to homos.)

I like them both a lot. You have to give the Beatles credit for their amazing contributions to rock music.

I don't think the song has anything to do with drugs or heroin.. but I think it appears there sort of as a subverted metaphor for being optimistic.

The song is so fantastically genuine. Though I do agree the "movement" line is kind of cheesy, I think Lennon only liked it because... well... I'm sure you can surmise why. Which makes it ironic because the line doesn't feel as genuine, and yet that's what he was always after Paul to be. More genuine.

A lot of Pauls "cheesy" ballads sound far more genuine than John's rock.

This is easily one of my favorite lines in any song. I can't imagine what it would be like to have someone write a song like this with me in mind.

I don't know if it actually was about John, but John DID think it was about him. In the 1980 playboy interviews Lennon said, " I always heard it as a song to me." He basically said he thought it was Paul's way of telling him to go out and get her (Yoko) and leave him, even though Paul himself didn't want to lose John.

John said, " I know I'm sounding like one of those fans who reads things into to it, but you can hear it as a song to me."

I guess even Beatles themselves can interpret/misinterpret other Beatles' songs.

I love this song -- especially the 7 minute version.
It's like in Mulin Rouge when they say they'll make a song that whenever they sing it they'll know that they love each other, or whatever the exact quote is. I think that's what this hits. The Na-na's at the end is like that song. If you sing it, it'll give you hope. Everybody knows that part of the song, and The Beatles repeat it enough that the whole world could recognize it.

Beautiful and genius. I love this song!
