Lyrics for Hey Jude as interpreted by Ice

Hey Jude Lyrics
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder

Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, (make it Jude) ooh

Na na na nananana, nananana, hey Jude... (Repeat X amount of times)

Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Ju- Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y Jude-y oow-wow

Oohoo my my my...

Now Jude Jude Jude Jude Jude Jude, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

No offense taken in the slightest. Far too often things more preposterous are meant too be taken at face value.

It's definitely about Julian. I've posted the official story, if you can see it.

The person being adressed has gone through a tough time. Get on with your life is the message>>> love again. the second you move on it gets better. I don't understand: "anytime you feel the pain, refrain." Is he telling him to give up when it gets tough? -Nicole

"It's definitely about Julian" don't you think it's a little bit cocky to claim your interpretation is the official one? Authorial intent can often be taken farther because sometimes you write or dream something and you don't know what it means and different perceptions can enlighten you. I think pkjun fully backed up his opinion and both sides can be argued and there doesn't always have to be a right or wrong answer.

I don't care if its cocky. Bobo is right.

Of course it's cocky. I can't help it, darlin', that's just me. Otherwise, it's such a famous interpretation, that I know it off pat anyway. Plus I've got about 20 books which tell me so.

An addendum that I missed out: from what I've learnt about basic psychology and the books I've read which explain the dreams both John and Paul had (of which there were many) which inspired the songs they wrote (this included many of the weirder songs which, like I do whenever I write, they thought up during sleep.) Let me just bore you with a little background.

I started writing songs four years ago. Little tunes, nothing big, maybe eight bars long. I could only write four bars at a time because my attention span was so low. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys worked in the same way. (He, if you are wondering, IS one of the people I look up to as a songwriter). I used to write little snatches of tune, four bars each, when suddenly, out popped an entire tune. I had just finished listening to The Everly Brothers' "All I Have To Do Is Dream" (again, pertinent). I thought to myself how I could do it, and in my sleep, I came up with words. Single words at first, then phrases, then sentences at a time.

Nobody can argue with me where my songwriting inspirations are from. I write down everything. Inspiration, date of authorization, and every single word of the song, in my (very sharp) click-click pencil. My point is, such that the words and the tunes were all documented at the beginning, so after The Beatles' career, some guy went back to Mr. McCartney and asked where every single song came from. The result was A Hard Days Write, but that's not the point. Everything's now been documented. Recording dates, correct to the hour, complete journals, correct with master copies of their complete 13 year schedule from 1957-1970.

From this, what do I glean? Official stories, with professional backing. That sounds arrogant, but believe me, when I say I'm right, it's been literarily proven.

Point of interest: Hey Jude was recorded 31st July 1968 to 1st July 1968. Julian Lennon was born 8th April 1963. This gives you an idea of the time-scale of the recording.

Grr, I was too dumb when I wrote that. It's meant to say 31st July to 1st August...

This song is about jews and the holocost.
hey jude dont make it bad-hey jews and americans sont kill us(the nazs)
Take a sad song and make it better- get over the holocost even though we "the nazis" killed 6million jews
Remeber, to let her into your heart, Then you can start to make it better- just let you axcept what's been done then you can stop killing us with the americans

I think I've proved my point

"You're" "wrong".

ok back to the song, i swear so many pitty stuff when it's about the music. So many people have done a cover of this song, i know i'm going back a little here but my fav. cover was by wilson pickett. Not as good as the beatles but it was good on it's own.

from paul to julian about john leaving cynthia? I don't think that's right. then what's meant by the lyric "You were made to go out and get her" among others? sounds to me like it was paul writing for john encouraging him to court yoko (I bet he'd regret it now if he hadn't made so much money from the song)...and doesn't jude translate to john is some language?

Hey there Matty.

Sorry about annoyin' ya with that. That was not the original intention.

Interesting reading all the stuff above. I've never heard of this song being about julian lennon before now. I heard that it was written about John's aunt Jude, who looked after him while he starteed the beatles. The song is a thank you for giving him somewhere to live and providing for him as he struggled as a musician

Read the latest issue of Cosmo. Then read Jack Keruoacs "On the Road" Compare and contrast. If you still don't know what this song means, you are probably dead.

to me, it sounds that the lyrics perfectly describe that of injecting heroin "the minute you let her under your skin, then you begin to make it better.

not all beatles songs were about drugs. i HATE when people hear a beatles lyric that they dont understand and assume its about drugs. give the beatles more credit, man, they had more to their songwriting than that.
