Ooh...know I feel so strange looking out the door
oooh...tryin hard to change but can't let go
oooh...cryin' tears of pain and more and more
oooh...everyday is the same as the one before

I'm walkin the floor over you
I'm walkin the floor

Every heart that breaks is a heart that's cold
To the hand that takes your dreamless soul

Ooh...Is it long to wait, is it much to pay?
oooh...Sometimes it's hard waiting for the day.

you know it's hard. I said it's hard
You know it's true. I said it's hard
you know it's hard. You know it's true

Every tear that falls is a smile that's lost
When you hear the call can you count the cost?
As you stand alone do you wonder how?
Can you step aside, does it matter now?

Every love that's changed ?-?-?-?-?-?
In the eye of the night ?-?-?-
In the day everything ?-?-?-?
She was smilin' a tear at her waters fall ??

you know it's true. You know it's true now

I'm walkin the floor over you
I'm walkin' the floor
Every tear that falls is a smile that's lost
When you hear the call can you count the cost?
As you stand alone do you wonder how?
Can you step aside, does it matter now?

Does it matter now? (repeat)

General Comment:The whole album was just the best of the worst so to speak, and It is actually an amazing album, it doesn't even make sense to say that this album sucked considering all of the songs were actually recorded throughout the early 70's (their primetime). Bonham's drumming in particular is very well done, and as far as anyone one else is concerned whether or not this song is about girls, or drug addictions, if you think the album sucked or not, the reason we're listening to Led Zeppelin is because they were amazing and changed the world of music today.

My Interpretation:A friend of mine gave me a pretty good explanation for this song. He said that R. Plant wrote it about his concern for J. Pages addiction to heroin. When you read the lyrics it makes alot of sense: in the first 4 lines its pretty obvious "trying hard to change but cant let go, cryin tears of pain and every day is the same as the one before"...that describes the life of a heroin addict....."its hard waiting for the day" (to get clean)....."when you hear the call (of the needle)" "can you count the cost (of what its doing to your life)"....and finally "i'm walking the floor over you" is robert being concerned for his friend.....this is the most logical explantion of this song I have ever heard.

General Comment:i think its about just chasing some girl....and the "you know its hard" has nothing to do w/ an erection...wtf lol....hes just saying its hard because of the difficulites it takes to chase down this chick...and eveyday is the same and he can't change or find a way to get through to her

General Comment:This song was instumentally jammed out in that classic American tour of 1972 during their performances of "Dazed and Confused". Plant, over at Stargroves, during the "Houses" sessions, threw vocals over this bawdy instrumentation. The vocals are allegedly Plant's reflections on occasions when he'd see a flirty, attractive girl after a show, and his longing to sleep with her. The references to, well, erection, come up "You know it's hard". Plant, thousands of miles away from his wife, wanting to stay faithful, but wondering of the "cost" in his own conscience to cheat on her; something that he hated. "Walking the floor" is an expression for constantly gazing at a girl's actions and movements at a club.

General Comment:uhhh, whether the album sucked or not doesn't say anything about Bonham.. it did suck, it had some amazing songs, but these were the reject songs.
