Lyrics for Candy Store Rock as interpreted by kevin

Candy Store Rock Lyrics
Well... Oh baby baby. Don't you want a man like me?
Oh baby baby, I'm just as sweet as anybody could be
Oh baby baby, I want to look to your eyes, of blue
Oh baby baby, It's more than anybody else could do

Well... Oh baby baby. You know when I see you walkin down the street
Oh baby baby, Well you lookin good enough to eat
Oh baby baby, I dont believe I've tasted this before
Oh baby baby, I want it now
And every mouthfull more of you.

Talk about you, Yeah.

Oh baby baby, You know that I wanted it more
Oh baby baby, I'm about to kiss goodbye to this store
Oh baby baby, It ain't the wrapping that sells the goods
Oh baby baby, I got a sweet tooth when my mouth is full of you.

Ooh baby oh baby its alright, its alright
Ohh baby its alright...its alright

Well, oh baby, baby, oh you sting like a bee
Oh baby, baby, I like your honey and it sure likes me
Oh baby, baby, I got my spoon inside your jar
Oh baby, baby, don't give me too much, don't make me starve

Oh baby, baby, sugar sister on a silver plate
Oh baby, baby, I need a mouthful and I just can't wait
Oh baby, baby, see the shaking in my hand
Oh baby, baby, don't mean to fumble but it tastes so grand
Tastes so grand, tastes so grand, baby it's alright

Oh baby it's alright, oh it's alright
It's alright... (repeat)

It figures that to me, a LONG time Zeppelin fan, would have one of my favorite songs receiving absolutely no posts here. This is a killer ROCKING tune. I love to play along on drums.

I don't really like this song too much, it's probably my least favourite song on presence, but that satement is my opinion. This song just makes me think of Robert Plant as a fat, demanding baby, bawling his eyes out for more candy, (metaphorically speaking)

i never understood why this song never got any recognition. i always felt this was one of the better songs off of presence. i love the way its drenched in reverb... really elvis/rockabiliy sounding.

This song is fantastic musically speaking, but there's really nothing to say about the lyrics... and THAT'S why there are so few postings here. So I'll give it a try. The guitar on this track has an amazing tonal quality to it. On the one hand, it almost sounds 1950's, on the other hand it sounds cutting edge... it so unique. It sets the stage for Plant's lyrics; sort of an old-time, innocent, teenyboppers-in-the-icecream parlour scene. The girls are wearing hair bands, ankle-length skirts and white running shoes with bobby socks as they sip on their cherry sodas. The sound is almost surreal; maybe it's that ancient Les Paul that Jimmy has! As Paul McCartney once sang: "What's That Man Movin' Cross The Stage? It Looks A Lot Like The One Used By Jimmy Page. Its Like A Relic From A Different Age".

Wtf are you people smoking... this song is forgettable filler at best. Plant sounds like he's making up the lyrics as he's going a long.

This was Zeppeling admitted attempt at Rockabilly. To a musicians ear this track may be valid, but it is my least favorite Studio track. I still like the song though. I suppose the lyrics are about Plant comparing a girl to candy and all the desires that go along with that.

The lyrics are from various rockabilly and Elvis songs from the 50s. I love the grove of the song. Page really did his best guitar work overall on Presence. The song is of course about sex. Which is probably the most common topic of Zeppelin songs.

Nice little 50's like number. One of Plant's favorite's. And the only song on Presence to be a single (which Zeppelin despised)

This song obviously stems from an Elvis influence. Very underrated song off Presence in my opinion.
