Lyrics for Boogie With Stu as interpreted by kevin

Boogie With Stu Lyrics
Been in town, my baby, We just got to rock on
Yeah, darling, we just got to go home
I don't want no tutti-frutti, no lollipop
Come on, baby, just rock, rock, rock.

Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, honey
We've been shakin' all night
Oh, darlin', we just got to roll right
Ooh, my head... rock on.

Hey babe, hey babe (repeat)

I don't want no tutti-frutti, no lollipop
Come on baby, just rock, rock, rock.

anyone who says that Led Zeppelin's songs all sound the same or are about the same things need to listen to the album this song is on (Physical Graffiti). all of the 15 tracks are great and unique but still definitly Zeppelin. this song has that rockin' boogie sound, "In My Time Of Dying" is a classic slow blues song, and "Kashmir" has that totally original Moroccan / mediterrainian / desert / drifter sound to it. i think this album is what really helped set them apart from Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones and other similar bands of the day; III and IV probably had more popular singles and hits, but this one brings out all their talents and musical tastes and brings them together in one ecclectic album.

This song was just recorded as a jam session with Ian Stewart, who was the road manager and piano player for the Stones. And also, Robert Plant plays the guitar in this song, not Jimmy Page.

This was never a Ritchie Valens song. "Stu" is Ian Stewart of the Rolling Stones as mnkyonastick indicated. When Zep started recording in about '70 in the Rolling Stones' Mobile studio, Stu just started playing an out of tune piano and they all started jamming and came up with this. The Boogie-Woogie style of playing paino was Stu's forte. Obviously this was a leftover recording they would later release on 1975's "Physical Grafitti."

Great song. I love how simple and fun it was. A lot of Zeppelin tunes are so... serious and deep leaving many people to believe that they were so serious and stuff. Songs like this show that they liked to just have fun and play simple and light too. You can even hear them laughing at the end.

they ripped this off from ritchie valens. they changed the name and gave themselves credit for writing it. ritchie's family sued them but never got any money out of it.

they did not rip this song from ritchie valens, Plant just spontaneously sang the lyrics from Valens "ooh my head". They specifically put Mrs Valens on the credits SO SHE COULD get royalties as ritchie was dead. i'm sick of ppl saying led zeppelin ripped songs without knowing which and how. Compare some of their 'ripped' songs to the originals and they only way you would know they were similar is the lyrics. good song...

Big Zep fan here. However to say they didn't rip off Willie Dixon and others is absurd.
They lost a court case BECAUSE they didn't credit Dixon with You Shook Me or I Can't Quit You.
Not only that but the Lemon Song is basically Killing Floor lyrics. Now a good example of what taal 19 is refering to would be "Bring it on Home" Which is a Sonny Boy Williams song. This song begins as a straight rip off but then it gets all Jamming and ALL Zeppelin. But heck truth is ALL of the British invasion ppl ripped off American Blues and if they hadn't American Blues may still be unknown by most Americans.

I have one question: Who is Stu?

Otherwise, pretty good song from Physical Graffiti. Has a nice melody and a fun, boogie down feel.

You may have worked it out by now, but as it's stated above, "Stu" is Ian Stewart, who was the piano player and roadie for the Stones (often referred to as the 'the 6th Stone'). I managed to catch him in a solo concert not long before he died (the same thing happened with Alexis Korner, so I decided it would be better not to see BB King when the chance arose - he's still going strong :-) ). Excellent performer.

Yes meanceprimeaux they did rip-off three or four songs that were pretty much blues staples! I'm talking about the people who always bring When The Levee Breaks, In My Time Of Dying, Dazed and Confused, Custard Pie, Trampled Underfoot etc etc where you wouldn't pick it but for the lyrics.

I love this song. It's a fantastic proof of the so-called "telepathic" nature of the band. The band was recording III at Hedley Grange where this old dilapidated piano sat. Since they were borrowing the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio at the time, it's no surprise that Ian Stewart paid a visit. And this recording (although I'm sure mastered later by Page) was actually made as is - no writing or rehearsing. This is a jam session folks - and knowing that, I hope you listen to the musicianship and talent of the boys just playing along. Oh, and as for the quality of the just then tuned (by Ian) piano sitting in a run down, underheated factory worker's dormitory from the 19th century - give it credit too!
