Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Oh, baby, I been blind
Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I been blind
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find the way I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like sorts inside a dream
Leave the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert stream
Like Shangri-la beneath the summer moon
I will return again
As the dust that floats finds you
We're moving through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
Along the straits of fear
Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah
And my feet wear my fickle way to stay
Ooh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah yeah,
But I'm down oh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah
Yeah, but I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oh, my baby
Let me take you there
Come on, oh let me take you there
Let me take you there
And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Oh, baby, I been blind
Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I been blind
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find the way I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like sorts inside a dream

Who says:
"Read the Ellimist Chronicles! He travels time and space, he's seen the elders of a gentle race,he's rarely seen,
I mean COME ON! It's like blatantly pointing at that to me!"

Interesting idea but there's a slight problem.
Physical Graffiti was released February 24, 1975.
And the Ellimist Chronicles appeared 20 years later!

Once again Led Zeppelin is ahead of their time.
I believe LZ intentionally wrote their songs as mysteriously ambiguous as the great painters painted their master pieces. Both are "timeless" and being discussed for decades and decades yet to come.
With that technique, each and every listener can interpret the music and it's meanings just as differently as we all are.
Zeppelin intended their music to live on forever. Otherwise they would have taken the "easier" FM pop route and slapped together a couple paragraphs of forgettable and simple lyrics, like hundreds of other bands all of us have forgotten about over the years.
It's 2013 now and even though LZ laid the blueprint decades ago, I can't think of a single group that comes close to Led Zeppelin musically or lyrically.

"They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed" this verse to me is so very interesting. Especially considering the first few verses before speak of "Elders of the gentle race this world has seldom seen". If that doesn't sound other-worldly and strange than I don't know what is. If they haven't been seen much than who are they, and also it seems to sound like they can see things before they occur. I have listened and re-listened but I still come to the conclusion these people are talking about something very hard to understand.
If I'm correct however in hearing this: "...all will be revealed" part than it sounds to me like maybe we'll soon know who these seldom-seen people are.
In any case this song gives me goosebumps just hearing the tone, rhythm, and words, it brings me to thinking of how much more there is.
Also Kashmir was fought over by India an Pakistan, that could be why no one visits
Stars to fill my dreams
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Secret elders of the gentle race
This world is seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace
Whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Woah, woah
Ooh, oh baby I been flying
Lord yeah mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I've been flying
Mama ma, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
Oh all I see turns to brown as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I been
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert screen
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon
I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June
When movin' through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds
Fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
'Long the straits of fear
Woah, woah, woah
Oh
Well, when I want
When I'm on my way, yeah
When I see
When I see the way, you stay, yeah
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah, well I'm down, yes
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah, well I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, ooh, my baby, let me take you there
Oh oh, come on, come on
Oh, let me take you there
Let me take you there
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah
