Lyrics for Trampled Underfoot as interpreted by kevin

Trampled Underfoot Lyrics
Greasy slicked down body, groovy leather trim
I like the way you hold the road, mama, it ain't no sin

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Trouble-free transmission, helps your oil's flow
Mama, let me pump your gas, mama, let me do it all

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood
Baby, I could work all night, believe I've got the perfect tools

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

A model built for comfort, really built with style
Specialist tradition, mama, let me feast my eyes

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Factory air-conditioned, heat begins to rise
Guaranteed to run for hours, mama it's a perfect size

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Groovin' on the freeway, gauge is on the red
Gun down on my gasoline, I believe I'm gonna crack a head.

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)
I can't stop talkin' about...

Come to me for service every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points, fix your overdrive

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Fully automatic, comes in any size
Makes me wonder what I did, before we synchronized

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Feather-light suspension, coils just couldn't hold
I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Oh, I can't stop talkin' about love.

I think this song seems to be an analogy of women through cars.

I tend to hear bonham coming through in this song...Ever seen song remains the same?.....If you claim to be azeppelin fan and haven't...somethins wrong ;) ......anyhow......Bonham's got a gorgeous old truck totally pimped out.....He was the total car guy.....I think Robert Plant "just can't stop tlakin about love"....uses any analogy he can to talk about girls, sex, all that jazz......He's a sex god....not many can pull it off....but he does it Famously!

While the dualism about cars and women may seem novel, it's not. Take for instance the E. E. Cummings poem "She Being Brand New" written in 1926: http://www.sit.wisc.edu/~empueschel/otherpeople/brandnew.html

..oh, but you're all so intellectual. :-D

this song is only about sex. Sex, sex and more sex. The car is a metaphor for a chick. They werent mechanics, they were "talkin bout love".

Its got a great bass/drum line

I think i figured out zeppelin: everything was just bigger....
Page had bigs hands
Bonzo was just a big guy
Jones had a big brain
and Plant had a big dick

I dont think this song has anything to do with cars...it's metaphorical for SEX. Which a lot of zep songs are about. I love this song. It is ridiculously dirty, but if I was alive in the 70s and of the proper age, I wouldn't mind making the members of led zeppelin happy by letting them fix my car. ::wink,wink::

Wow. never realized how dirty this was till i read the lyrics. Well, Robert Plant is so amazingly sexy it is unbelievable. Even now there is something sexy about him. Not many old guys can you say that about. I love these lyrics and i would be happy if Robert did any of htes things to my ..um..car

This song always reminded me of "Long Train Running"
by the Doobie Brothers.

The lyrics are obviously sexual metaphors
in the form of automotive terms.

I think he mentions at one point that he's 'talkin' 'bout love', that's what I think this song is about.
