Amazing song, amazingly dirty too, but its Zeppelin they can get away with it.
The displaced snare beat ( on the "and" of 2 as opposed to 2) helps to give this song an amazing feel, it just wouldnt have cut it being a straight ahead "2 & 4" rocker. Amazing song, well played all around.

I like this song. I think you guys are right about the meaning, but what I focus on is that awesome rhythm section, particularly John Paul Jones rhythm. I like the timing here, too. This goes up with "The Lemon Song" off Led Zeppelin II, in terms of lyrical content.
