Dancing days are here again, As the summer evenings grow
I got my flower, I got my power,
I got a woman who knows.

[Chorus:]

I said it's alright, You know it's alright
I guess it's all in my heart
You'll be my only, my one and only
Is that the way it should start?
Crazy ways are evident
In the way that you're wearing your clothes
Suppin' boze is precedent, As the evening starts to glow.

[Chorus:]

I told your mamma I'd get you home
But I didn't tell her I had no car
I saw a lion he was standing alone
With a tadpole in a jar.

[Chorus:]

Dancing days are here again
As the summer evening grows
You are my flower, you are my power
You are my woman who knows.

[Chorus:]

General Comment:lol I read somewhere they wrote this during a summer afternoon while they were messing around.. Robert's wife got up and started dancing..

BTW this song has a kinda weird eastern feel too it. The chords are strange and the use of slide guitar is interesting.

General Comment:I had a dream in which i was offered the opportunity to go with one of several extraterrestrial races... there were two of each race, except the little blue guys (there were three) and the Lion-type (there was one!), and the Lion-type guy had this genetic experiment in a glass jar that he carried with him wherever he was going. I saw a lion, he was standing alone with a tadpole in a jar.

    fuckin freaky!

Of course that could have been inserted into my dream by my knowledge of the lyric. But was it?

    Love it every time.

It's the kind of sexual bravado I wish I had.

General Comment:What an incredible song. Immediately get visuals of a warm summer night out with friends. It gives me that "invincible teenager" feeling. Man I wish I grew up in the 70's, I'm 15 and I HATE the shit on the radio today it's all industry bullshit! Where did all the talent go?

General Comment:is it just me or does it sound like zep was thinking of Yeats when he wrote this? Y has a poem called Those Dancing Days Are Gone, and in the same collection he wrote a line that goes 'love is like the lion's tooth'...

General Comment:he guesses its all in his heart although to love a woman takes mind, body, and soul. But he is true, it was only a guess. Then the second time around he repeats heart three times because third time is the charm, he is trying to get lucky with his guess that its all in his heart.
