Black Dog Lyrics
Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.
Oh, oh, child, way you shake that thing, gonna make you burn, gonna make you sting. Hey, hey, baby, when you walk that way, watch your honey drip, can't keep away. *Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah. Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah. I gotta roll, can't stand still, got a flame in my heart, can't get my fill. Eyes that shine burning red, dreams of you all through my head. Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah. Hey, baby, oh, baby, pretty baby, Tell me won't you you do me now. Didn't take too long 'fore I found out, what people mean my down and out. Spent my money, took my car, started telling her friends she wants to be a star. I don't know but I been told, a big-legged woman ain't got no soul. * Chorus All I ask for when I pray, steady rollin' woman gonna come my way. Need a woman gonna hold my hand, won't tell me no lies, make me a happy man.

"got a flame in my heart, can't get my fill. Eyes that shine burning red, dreams of you all through my head."
The beginning of the song is awesome.

http://www.pantheon.org/articles/b/black_dog.html
i`ve heard the thing about the title coming from the fact that there was a black dog on the grounds of the recording studio, and that is probably true, but i can`t help but think that the mythological black dog is perhaps being referenced here in some way. in british folklore these creatures are highly destructive, perhaps a parallel between women who lie and the destructive Black Dog is being made.

On "Black Dog" I wondered if the title they chose was a more obscure reference to Sir Winston Churchill (Britain's Prime Minister during WWII) who suffered from bouts of clinical depression. Lord Churchill referred to the dark mood when it came over him as the "Black Dog".
Lastly, does anyone know what the time signature of the music is on "Black Dog"? - it is like no other rock song I've ever listened to. I think it is 6/4 or possibly 9/4 time. Help!
