When I done quit hollerin' baby
I believe I shake 'em on down
Get my babe won't be late
You know by that I mean seconds late
Ah must I holler
Must I shake 'em on down
Well I've been mistreated babe
I believe I'll shake 'em on down.
Shake 'em.
Well I ain't no monkey.
I can't climb no tree
No brown skin woman gonna make
No monkey out of me
I ain't no monkey
Sure can't climb no tree,
I been mistreated babe
I believe I'll shake 'em on down,
Well I've been mistreated babe
I believe I'll shake 'em on down.
Listen mama,
Put on your mornin' gown'
Put in your nightshirt
Mama we gonna shake 'em down
Must I holler
Must I shake 'em on down?
Gave my baby a twenty dollar bill,
If that don't get her,
Sure my shot, shot, shot-gun will,
Yeah, I gave my baby a twenty dollar bill,
If that don't get that woman,
I'm sure my shot-gun will.
Gonna go shoot her now

General Comment:Great song and I love Roy Harper - I remember a great interview with Page and Harper sitting on a hill in Wales, both out their heads!

General Comment:Real good song to show off how awesome analogue vinyl records can be fidelity and sonics wise.. This on vinyl makes the cd version sound like a badly mastered piece of shit... oh wait... on cd it is.

General Comment:I think this is one of my favorite songs. The sounds of the two (page and plant) together in this song is remarkable, as they sit in opposite rooms of the bron yr aur cabin and wrote this tune. My favorite thing to do is turn the balance all the way to the right, and hear plant sing, while the sound of the guitar is barely traceable. then, hear it again all the way left. In the distance you can hear robert plant's screaming echo in the background.

General Comment:It's a great song. You could say that it's hats off to the old swampy Mississippi delta blues. Like slow cheetah, I love it that Zep could both play hard rock and traditional folk.

General Comment:I'm alot like Zoso71 actually, and i agree with him too. I'm 15, and haven't been listening to Zeppelin that long (around a year or a little more) and I must say that this song is not only one that gets me moving but it demonstrates so well their ability to go from genre to genre, not just in a career but even within an album. If I'm not mistaken, this is off of Zeppelin III, which also has Immigrant Song on it. If that isn't a demonstration of two way different music types displayed quite well on the same album, I don't know what is.

And to whoever said they didn't really like Pink Floyd, I have to ask, isn't hard rock supposed to be a little over the top? I mean, if it wasn't they'd call it country, and that's one genre of music I do NOT want to be a part of.
