Hey girl stop what you're doin'!
Hey girl you'll drive me to ruin.
I don't know what it is that I like about you
But I like it a lot.
Won't let me hold you
Let me feel your lovin' charms.

[Chorus:]
Communication breakdown
It's always the same
I'm having a nervous breakdown
Drive me insane!

Hey girl I got something I think you ought to know.
Hey babe I want to tell you that I love you so.
I want to hold you in my arms, yeah!
I'm never gonna let you go,
'Cause I like your charms.

[Chorus]

I want you to love me all night

[Chorus]

I want you to love me all night
I want you to love me
I want you to love...yeah! I want you to love!

General Comment:Always reminds me of "I want to tell you" by the Beatles. As they are both about the same thing.

General Comment:It's just about being with this girl, and the way she makes you feel, and no matter what you just can't get what you want to say out to her, you kind of freeze up. You wanna tell her that you love her but the words just won't come out, hence "Communtication Breakdown".

General Comment:I have mixed feelings about ripping off lyrics. Picasso said a good artist borrows, but a great artist steals. like someone else wrote...they stole lyrics but made the songs their own. Which was their reasoning for not crediting the songs properly...which I disagree with. Ironically, plant was not too happy about the beastie boys ripping off zeppelin in the 80's. At any rate...this song is fire.

General Comment:This song to me is timeless, fresh every time I hear it. Looking now back in hindsight, if any ONE song could be the harbinger of both heavy metal and punk, this one would be it. While the song is not really either one, it is a singular acheivement, pummeling its way into a whole new era in music. And check out Plants vocals - boiling over with energy, it must have taken 5 people to hold him down. Hat's off!!

General Comment:damn everyone feels this way. Like you can't talk around them but you can't stop thinking about them long enough to pay attention to your obligations and then you finally tell them and you never want them to leave.

Gosh this song is great. you can appreciate it just for that

General Comment:Very easy to relate to as my interpretation is that the narrator of the song is into a girl but his communication breaks down and he can't speak because she's so attractive or whatever.

General Comment:I remember the first time I heard this track. It was back in 1969, only few days after it was released. My older brother just got his driver's license, and we were driving through town at night when I turned on the AM radio (cars didn't have FM back then) just seconds before the opening riff. Immediately my brother shouted "Zeppelin! Crank it up!" and we drove on through the downtown core with the windows down, heads turning from all directions to hear the new sound... and throughout the whole song my mind was SPELLBOUND by the guitar riff and the screaming vocals... and when it ended all I could think was "I want to hear AGAIN... NOW!". My brother bought the album the next day (as did a few million other boomers) and the rest, as they say, is history...
