Lyrics for Dazed And Confused as interpreted by kevin

Dazed And Confused Lyrics
Been Dazed and Confused for so long it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of people talk and few of them know,
soul of a woman was created below.

You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies.
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been.
Gonna love you baby, here I come again.

Every day I work so hard, bringin' home my hard earned pay
Try to love you baby, but you push me away.
Don't know where you're goin', only know just where you've been,
Sweet little baby, I want you again.

Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Take it easy baby, let them say what they will.
Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill?

Is it just me or does Plant seem to get off on Pages whaling guitar around about 2 minutes into the song. This song seeps into every part of my being.. simply hypnotic.

my favorite part of The Song Remains the Same is when page is going at the guitar with the violin bow. It touches me every time I see and hear it.

The line

"Wanted a woman, never bargained for you"

in the 4th stanza always sounded instead to me like

"Walnetto Woman, never bargained for you". :)

(A Walnetto Woman, of course, would have to be the frumpy character played by Ruth Buzzi in "Laugh-In", who repeatedly refused the Walnetto candy offered by Arte Johnson's dirty old man character.)

this song really does have a mood behind it, when you listen to it, it REALLY gets into you, I mean a way that you actually need to play it when your dazed and confused, I did when like 4 girls asked me out, I just sat in my living room and played this song until objects in our neighbors house fell over.

4 girls asked you out, WOW! pat yourself of the back. now you can feel secure about yourself and we can all realize that you don't give a fuck about the meaning of this song. rather, you pretend to give the song some meaning and choose announcing to everyone that this song helped you cope with the problem of having 4 girls wanting to date you, presumingly all at the same time. i'm sure that mr. plant had the exact same situation roll over on him and that's why he wrote these lyrics...too many girls wanting him. WRONG. this song is about that "one girl" who throws you out of whack and you're a loser.

i'm pretty sure jimmy page wrote this song, but i agree w/ you that it's about 1 girl. i like the live 26:52 version on "The Song Remains the Same" album. It's so fun to listen to. Twenty-Five!! If anybody hasn't heard it, and likes hearing violin bowing and robert plant's orgasms, this is def something to get a hold of

It's not a cover, the Yardbirds only played it because Page wrote it when he was with them.

she must be one of those girls who plays tons of games to make him want her more by playing hard to get and she's able to do it good too obviously he thinks she's super hot "lord how they hypnotize". but at the same time she drives him crazy and frustrates him because "Wanted a woman, never bargained for you." well.. i'd definitally take that as an insult if i were her. and even though i can in no way relate to the lyrics WOW this song is awesome! it has so much emotion and mmmm everything is perfect. i do have to get a really super long version of this song i'd listen to it so often.! lol maybe someday i'll learn how to play it with a bow. that would b fun.

just fyi this song was origanally written by the yardbirds (which page, beck, and clapton were all a part of at one time) then in the middle of the yardbirds tour the band broke up cept page and he had to keep touring so he hired people to be in his band and Pete Townshend (lead guitarist of The Who) said that the band "will go down like a led zeppelin" meaning that the band wont make it far in the music career and the band decided to take Led Zeppelin as their name.

Rocker8902, this is only what I heard, but it was Kieth Moon (drummer from the Who) who said that. And to be exact, he said "it will go down like a Lead Balloon." pwned. But back to the point. Dazed and Confused is just amazing. The meaning is pretty much as obvious as a black box in a white room. (haha like my pun?) and you are right "themachine312", the 25 minute jam session on HTWWW is just mind numbingly awesome.
