i took my shirt off in the yard
no one saw that the skin on my shoulders was golden
now it's not
my shirt's back on
i forgot my songs
the glow is gone
my gliding body stopped

i could not get through september without a battle
i faced death
i went in with my arms swinging
but i heard my own breath
i had to face that i'm still living

i'm still flesh
i hold on to life with feelings

i'm not dead
there's no end
my face is red
my blood flows harshly

my heart beats loudly

my chest still draws breath
i hold it
i'm boiling
ooh oh oh
there's no end

General Comment:This song is clearly about drugs. The Glow was about getting high and The Glow Pt 2 is about coming down. If you have ever done any type of psychedelic drug you will find this song to be the most perfect depiction of what its like to lose that synthetic, chemically-induced happiness.

I think the lyrics frame the song writer's experience in a metaphor. You might see its literal meaning as being about a near death experience, but c'mon... that's just a facade. Its the combination of the lyrics and persistently melancholy tone of the song that make it clear that its about an acid hangover, or something similar. Thanks for comin out.

General Comment:I don't think a lot of people connect this with part one of the Glow. The first part suddenly stops with the line "And the Glow replied". This must be the Glow's reply.
I just enjoy taking these songs literally, they paint such an amazing picture in my head. Like some sort of journey.
This is the Glows journey to the point where it meets the character in Pt. 1 and how it became the Glow..

I believe the Glow rescued the character from the snow and where it was trapped and took them underwater, but now it's explaining that there is no end to their journey and about the tough life it's endured, and the character probably will also.
Is there a metaphor in here? I have no clue, I think it's left open ended on purpose.

General Comment:why has no one commented on the beginning?
Or at least i see no comments
    well

"i took my shirt off in the yard
no one saw that the skin on my shoulders was golden"

to me means, metaphorically, that as he "takes his shirt off" he is revealing himself to the public through his songs and music as he does this "in the yard" and that "skin on [his] shoulders was golden" as though when he revealed himself he was beautiful and he but "no one saw", which literally means, no one saw

    "now it's not
    my shirt's back on
    i forgot my songs
    the glow is gone
    my gliding body stopped"

and once again this is how i see it, but he no longer see his body as golden with the "now it's not" and that "[his] shirt's back on" as though he no longer is revealing himself and his innermost thoughts, feelings, etc. (i feel putting etc. makes it seem so less important, let me assure you, this song is omg good) he has forgot his "songs" or feelings, emotions, etc. and no longer even wishes to express them to society. "the glow" which seems to me like he usees this to represent how he sees his beautiful songs and his artistic ability is now "gone," as though, after no one recognizes his beauty, it has left him or more realisticly, he has given up on trying. and his "gliding body has stopped" i would (i wont lie, i dont take to know this part well) his body has stopped moving through life and he has ceased to live, once again showing he has given up

and whoa big comment on this one, sorry, it's just this song means so much
and the rest of the song i do agree with adrianawolfe that it is about suicide after, of course, he has given up

General Comment:Very well might be one of my favorite songs by them. I think it might be more about being "stuck" on something rather than death. Getting frustrated. Or something to that effect. I don't really know how to analyze it. But I love his voice and I love how he sings the first line.
