Hopelessly drift
In the eyes of the ghost again
Down on my knees
And my hands in the air again

Pushing my face in the memory of you again
But I never know if it's real
Never know how I wanted to feel
Never quite said what I wanted to say to you

Never quite managed the words to explain to you
Never quite knew how to make them believable
And now the time has gone
Another time undone

Hopelessly fighting the devil
Futility
Feeling the monster
Climb deeper inside of me

Feeling him gnawing my heart away
Hungrily
I'll never lose this pain
Never dream of you again

My Opinion:Sigh...Whenever I listen to this song, I don't want it to end, it's like you're saying goodbye to someone but you can't. You don't want him or her to go. That's the feeling I always get in this song. Robert Smith is the best songwriter ever. FOR ME. and I mean that, his lyrics were like my daily dialogue.

My Interpretation:I'm currently getting over a girl I've loved for a year and two months. She didn't like me back, but knew how much I cared about her and chose to avoid me. I kept trying and trying and trying with her, but it just wasn't working out. This song has helped me through so much of it, and I hope I can do something someday to help others through situations like mine.
    Bravo, The Cure :)

General Comment:hey people, it's not an untitled song. the name of the song is "Untitled." the song is about how he never could come up with the right thing to say, so he's being cheeky with the song title -- he can't even come up with a title.

General Comment:This one is not easy to explain, but i'll try.

Obviously it's a love song. It seems he had strong feelings for this special person but he wasn't really sure about them until this person disappeared from his life.

He didn't find the right words to explain his feelings because he wasn't sure abot them and now he feels sad and feels this pain which will never disappear. This proves he actually loved this person very much.

    Beautiful song, music is amazing.

General Comment:I love that this song is called "Untitled" because I feel like untitled songs sort of get pushed into obscurity, but it's not an obscure feeling at all. I think everyone feels like they don't have the words to explain how they feel at times. I don't know. I guess I just love that subtle contradiction.

    General Comment:Regarding "Untitled", Smith said:

"a hopeful song in a hopeless world." "'Hoplessly fighting the devil futility' -- that really is the key line in the record. Knowing that everything's futile but still fighting, still raging against the dying of the light - that's what motivates me all the time."

General Comment:The lyrics mean something unique to everyone, but Smith is the father of them.
The melody rips all of our hearts out and kisses them.
