Lyrics for Lovesong as interpreted by oofus

Lovesong Lyrics
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Even though this song is sad and depressing, it's absolutely beautiful and will always be one of my favorite Cure songs.

Question... Is he singing of a love that he knows is doomed? A love that has already ended? Or is he actually expressing his love in this COMPLETELY depressing manner??

This is a beautiful love song. The words are really beautiful, but the music is really sad. I think that this is to show that sometimes love can be so beautiful that it causes pain.

This is a great song and the APC cover that's mixed with 'Diary of a Madman' isn't too shabby, either.

I don't really see it as depressing... its like.. this beautiful sadness that erupts, but there's nothing really sad about it. Like when you cry when aomeone says "I love you", and you know its true. Its like showing sadness for some of the beauty it can posess. I mean the music, the lyrics are the kind of thing that would provoke those tears.

This is just me, but the sadness comes from the love you want but will never posess. It probably is actually about how lovely it is to be loved, to bring joyful tears and not those of sorrow. To the ones that walk life being loved see this as a beautiful love song, and to the ones that are doomed to desolation it's a beautiful love song. I like the Jack Off Jill cover.

This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard...there is a certain amount of sadness to this song but, well, the Cure WERE a goth band...I think it works

im unsure whether the love is requited, somehow he seems to say he will always love the person no matter what, so is the love being returned? I duno, just another thing to think about this song, its why the cure are great songwriters, like all great song writers the music can be thought about , disected, talked about, for hours and intepreted in many ways.

you dumb f-ing people...this song is about a test...

a test of love and distance...if they remain in love during the time apart, thay are ment to be...and this song expresses the fact that they are ment to be

Robert wrote this song as a wedding gift for his wife, Mary Poole.

This is a depressing song... how...? The tune and beat isn't overly depressing but a steady rhythem with no emotion what so ever. So that the emotion is setup in the lyrics of the song, not the beat, and making this is a beautiful love song.

Chloe le Fay is right, it's written for his wife Mary. Robert said this about lovesong: "Yeah, it was cause me 'n' Mary got married last year and I couldn't think of what to give her, for a wedding present (laughs), so I wrote her that song... cheap and cheerful... she would've preferred diamonds, I think, but... I dunno... she might look back and be glad that I gave her that."

It's a great song and it lends itself brilliantly to covers...there is a fantastic Snake River Conspiracy version and also an excellent Jack Off Jill cover.

This is song is really great, one of my favorite Cure songs.. the lines:

"Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again"

are my favorite because i feel that exact way.... this song may sound sad and depressing, but i agree with emostylee it is definitely about testing their love.. because of distance... its pretty self exclamatory i dont know why everyone is making it out to be so hard and difficult? lol.....
