This song tells people to love fearlessly (not carelessly) and to enjoy the ride before the crash... dont spend so much time worrying about the crash...enjoy the ride.
This is one of their most straight-forward songs. He's wryly joking about how this is just the typical song about love and how wonderful it seems and then it always ends up in pain. He's saying how it doesn't matter what the details to his story are, because it happens to everyone just slightly differently. It's the same thing again and again in songs.
