Going under slowly
It never seems too late
Going under so slow
Dressing up to kiss
Dressing up to touch all this
I'm dressing up to dance all week
I'm dressing up to sleep
Dressing up to kiss
Dressing up to be all this
I could eat your face
I could eat all of you
Oh this night will never let me go
Going under slowly
Never seems too late
Going under slow
You'll pick me up again
It never seems too late
Going under so slow
Dressing up to kiss
Dressing up to touch all this
I'm dressing up to dance all week
I'm dressing up to sleep
Dressing up to kiss
Dressing up to be all this
I could eat your face
I could eat all of you
Oh this night will never let me go
Going under slowly
Never seems too late
Going under slow
You'll pick me up again

It's probably about drugs (what wasn't at this point for the cure, hehe), but there might be a different interpretation there.
Is 'dressing up' an analogy for not wanting to confront who you are, instead pretending to be someone different?
Yeah ok, it's about drugs...
@david_lpfan Well, The Top has been described more than once as their most psychedelic album. Not sure I agree with this: like nearly all their albums, it can't really be lumped into a single style, and indeed I would say that it was more diverse musically than any of the Cure albums that came before it (Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography), In any case, I expect that wasn't the type of drugs you had in mind. My understanding is that alcohol was their drug of choice during their early years; not sure if they'd, err, expanded their horizons by this time (The Top was released in '84).
