Got my fever down, then weighed it up, and know the
Sounds remaining won't strain all the silt from my eyes
Bleach the green from the pastures, feast on the grey
Of the night, straight from the vines refusal to shine

You're my favourite thing - the one that I love
You're the one so I'd die for your love

Blind the deafened moon, stimulate the tombs of angels
I'll open my heart won't fall apart
Don't fall apart
You're my favourite thing
And I feel like letting go

General Comment:"This song is not about Daniel Johns's girlfriend. It is about his obsession with death. It shows how depression weighs him down, and death is his way out somehow. He feels "like letting go" of life. "

OOOOOOOOOOUCH didn't see that coming ):

General Comment:i also like how the "letting go" can be a reference to the "you're the one so i'ld die for your love", so "letting go" in the sense of death...or it can just be a litterate "letting go", like letting the person or thing that he loves go

General Comment:have you guys stopped to consider that maybe he is not neccesarily talking about death in itself, but using the imagery of death to represent his feelings of isolation and frustration as an artist. he has come to terms that even though the lifestyle of an artist is very demanding & stressful, he has deemed it to be his favourite thing in the whole wide world even though sometimes he feels like letting it go.... just a thought

General Comment:This song is so romantic in such a different and rather offbeat way that it just gets better with every listen.

I believe this is Daniel talking about his obession with love and death and his love of death. Sometimes people become so involved in their Depression that is how they like themselves.Taking the green from life and feasting on the grey you have created.

General Comment:When I write, I can totally relate to all of the songs Daniel has written. He has such a deep interest in love and death, and that means a lot to me, because I love hearing his perspectives, thoughts, ideas, ways, etc. of love and death. Most of my poems/lyrics are about love and death, and when I read Daniels, they blow me away. i love you, daniel.

General Comment:I just received the US advance copy of this album today, and it just blew me away!! Especially this song, because it's so beautiful, and how it combines the elements of love and death. Daniel Johns is a lyrical genius.
