What would you do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of the day,
(Are you sad because you're on your own?)

No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight
Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light
I can't tell you but I know it's mine,

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
with a little help from my friends.

General Comment:Ringo Starr worked as hard as he could to make a good song and Joe Cocker comes around and everyone forgets his.

General Comment:The Woodstock version is SO superb - sung when he meant it, when the song meant something to others, when the sentiment matched the times -
The time & the place captured on film - no-other version can have the power of Woodstock

General Comment:This is the best cover of a Beatles song. However - my gripe is the poster of this song has just simply copied the Beatles lyrics. Cocker's version has slight differences in the words which he hasn't taken care enough to highlight. It doesn't end that way either.

General Comment:josephwolf; do you have anything meaningful to say?
You've already posted that comment twice......Once under another song.

Anyway I love this song. His voice is full of soul and I agree that his cover captures me moreso than the Beatles version.

General Comment:I asked for the full series of Wonder Years for Christmas. Great show. And the theme song is just amazing. I dont a single person that dislikes it. Why'd they stop showing the Wonder Years on Nick at Nite??? i like it a LOT

General Comment:I must agree with the above comment. Though the Beatles are undeniably awesome, I feel that this version adds more soul to the song. Listen to him scream! That man feels it. Plus, I like his tempo and phrasing better.

General Comment:See this song in the WOODSTOCK DVD...it`s amazing!!!!!!! Joe Cocker has this deep voice and I think that the sgt peppers version doesn't feel right compared to Joe's version!!!!!
