I hung your picture on the wall and that's all it is
I break my fingers to make a call and that's all it is
I know you're living way out west and I don't think that I confessed
Everything I feel

You say you got no faith in things that you can't see
Well I'm sorry I ain't there with you but you ain't here with me
And I'm down in all my fears
But I ain't crying no tears over you

Cause everything's wrong
Well it's all right
Everything's wrong
Well it's all right

You said that this is crazy you're a half a world away
Well I'm sitting and I'm thinking but I didn't know what to say
So I said something I can't touch, I always want way too much
Anyway

Cause everything's wrong
Well it's all right
Everything's wrong
Well it's all right

I hung your picture on the wall but that's all it is
I break my fingers to make a call and that's all it is
I know you're living way out west
Don't get me wrong I'm not impressed
With you no more

General Comment:john said the song was saying if you have to travel more than 2 hours to get to the person you love you are a loser. I read that somewhere. I love this song, almost always makes me cry

General Comment:"everything's wrong but it's alright". This isn't how it's supposed to be but somehow I can make mysekf okay with that. He still oves her, but he knows he has to let her go. She can't deal with the distance, he realizes its not fair if he's the only one who wants this badly enough to work for it. He won't cry, he will just allow her to quietly walk out of his life. It shows the way we can learn to live with even the most difficult descisons we make.

General Comment:this is one of the only songs i have ever truly connected to.
i understand every sentiment that they are trying to express in this. the man i am, yes, still, in love with i had to leave almost a year ago.
the understatement of emotion is how i tried, and am still struggling, to cope with my life without him. i break my fingers to make a call, and thats all it is.
theyre not talking about someone that they are getting over, theyre lying to themselves. the shine of a new relationship has worn off, 'im not impressed with you no more', but theyre still in love.
i am getting on with my life. but if he came back to me, id fall for him all over again. everythings wrong, but its alright. im coping.

General Comment:i think it was about a short but deep relationship, and they lived far apart. at first he's saying how much she means to him and he wants to make it work but she doesn't "got no faith in things that you can't see". as the song goes on, he realizes that he doesn't need her as much as he thought he did.
"don't get me wrong, i'm not impressed with you no more"

This song exactly fits me right now. I had a two week summer relationship with this guy whom I thought was amazing. When we both had to return home, at least a thousand miles apart, we kept in touch a lot at first. We did break up because he had long distance relationship issues. Slowly, he started to drift away, and I was wrecked because I thought he was the absolute perfect guy for me, and I'd never find someone as good again. I saw him in october and the whole emotional rollercoaster started all over again, and I was asking for him to try to make an LDR work. By now I've realized that I don't need him, and there are other guys, just not in my hometown. So basically, I'm not impressed with him no more.

General Comment:I so agree with regan 89. John is a funny guy. Just reading some quotes I found from him and stories that he has told. I bust up laughing everytime. This song is so good. I just love what it's saying in it.

"I hung your picture on the wall and thats it is.
I break my fingures to make a call and thats all it is.
I know your living way out west.
Don't get me wrong I'm not inpresed with you no more."

    I love that part.

General Comment:obviously this guy does care and feels bad if not worse than his girlfriend about living so far but he's trying to cope with it and not let it show, yeah it's an awsome and underated song, very emotional

General Comment:this is the most underated song from the goo. I reckon that this should be with all the 'Slide' n 'Iris' 's. It's an awesome song n so oldschool. Lurve it.
