Lyrics for Even Hitler Had A Girlfriend as interpreted by xpankfrisst

Even Hitler Had A Girlfriend Lyrics
I still haven't found a girlfriend, though I've tried a lot
So can you help me please, it's tougher that I thought
The odds are pretty good
But the goods are pretty odd
Though at this point I'd take anything you've got

You see this all the time, nice girls in love with jerks
What could they be thinking? Tell me how it works
Yes I've got some problems
Well I wouldn't be the first
But the ones I haven't, mine are even worse

And even Hitler had a girlfriend that he could always call
Who'd always be there for him despite of all his faults
He was the worst guy ever, vile and depised
Even Hitler had a girlfriend so why can't I? Why can't I?

Life is full of contradictions, hard to understand
And for every happy woman there's a lonely man
Nixon had his puppy
Charles Manson had his clan
But God forbid that I get a girlfriend

Even Hitler had a girlfriend that he could call his own
To sweeten the days of bitterness and feeling all alone
I'm not as bad as Hitler but it doesn't mean a thing
Since they'd rather be with Hitler more than me, I don't see
Why they'd rather be with Hitler more that me

despite the title this is a really touching song because i think we've all been a position where you feel you're doing something wrong to be putting girls off you. the bit about nice girls loving jerks too is true, because it always feel like you could treat them better. this so is too good

I will tell you all why girls go out with jerks. Girls are almost all a bunch of materialistic whores that think the hottest guy is the one with the biggest truck.

I dont mean to generalize all girls like that, but that is the case in Brea as well as most of orange county.

people on message boards speculating on song meanings are probably a lot more likely to connect with this song...ever think, like most Mr. T Experience things, their empathezing AND making fun of ya'll at the same time. Hmmmmm, chew on THAT.

I hafta agree with mousefan for instance the line:

Yes I've got some problems
Well I wouldn't be the first
But the ones I haven't, mine are even worse

-------

And for every happy woman there's a lonely man
Nixon had his puppy
Charles Manson had his clan
But God forbid that I get a girlfriend

I really think of it as a satire of sappy love songs. Its cute either way

i agree aswell kinda...this is like the gist of every emo song ever written...but in much more blatent (check spelling) terms. and no matter how sad it might be...its still funny so it makes all emo songs sound kinda cheesy and funny...well maybe it wont but if you think of it like that it might

i think that "Now That You Are Gone" is more of a satarization of overbearing emotional songs. This one just tells a sad story in a funny way.

I find this song more touching than most emo due to its blatency (assuming tom had the spelling right), where the emo songs try to sound artistic and cryptic. nazipunksf*ckoff also made a good point about the jerk thing. Sometimes girls do go out with jerks, but often its just that either the girl is so fine that anybody next to her appears jerk-like or you're just upset because she doesn't dig you. Good song though, I like how the entire theme is displayed clearly in the title.

This one is at the same time hilarious and sad. Tough to do I would imagine. And it is one of my favorites.

I can't say I'm in love with the vocals, but the writing is funny. The meaning, of course, is obvious. Despite being on Songmeanings, there's really no point in analyzing this one...

This song seems to be named after a 1991 black comedy movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Even_Hitler_Had_a_Girlfriend). The meaning is obvious. I first heard it on This American Life, of all places.
