Lyrics for Because as interpreted by Ice

Because Lyrics
Because the world is round it turns me on
Because the world is round

Ah

Because the wind is high it blows my mind
Because the wind is high

Ah, love is old, love is new
Love is all, love is you

Because the sky is blue it makes me cry
Because the sky is blue

Ah
Ah
Ah
Ah

It's been said that the melody for this song came when John Lennon asked Yoko to play Beethovan's Moonlight Sonata backwards.

Two unusual instruments on this one - a Baldwin Electric Combo Harpsichord (played by producer George Martin) and a Moog synthesiser (played by Paul).

That is true, Ferthuko, but apparently, the opening chords sound much more like the tune itself being played forward. I haven't, as yet, picked up a copy of Moonlight Sonata.

i think this song is beautiful and calming. the whole cd abbey road is amazing. when you listen to all of the songs in order with the way they go together at once it is a great experience. i love to download music, but i'm glad i purchased that cd long before the downloading option. i would recommend buying the actual cd to anyone who even liked one song on the album.

While relaxing at home, John heard Yoko play the first movement to Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 14 in C Sharp Minor (Moonlight Sonata). Intrigued, he asked her to play the same chords in reverse order. She did, and this was the inspiration for "Because."

I love this song because it plays on so many words. The world is round, and it turns, but it also turns him on because of how wonderful it is. The wind blows his mind. The wind blows, but it also makes him see the wonders of nature. The sky is blue in color, but also sad, and it makes him cry. Love is so many things. It can be old, it can be new; it can be everywhere, and it can be just that one person...I think these lyrics are beautuful.

There is a brilliant cover of this song by Elliott Smith. That's also the one Bickle meant.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that this song has the same intro as "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"?

Yeah, it does have a similar intro to that of I want you (She's So Heavy).
Personally I think this song has hidden sexual connontations, like many Beatles songs. A beautiful song never-the-less. One that you can just sit back, turn up and tune out! Love it...

To me, this is John's masterpiece in the beatles, a contribution he made that I think made their music very mature, because this does not compare with their other stuff, well... some things.. but this song is a complete chill down the spine and was executed perfectly,
if u are ever scared, do NOT listen to this song.

The tightness of the harmonies from Lennon, McCartney and Harrison are unbelievable when you hear the song without the background music. I think this is on Anthology III.
