Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear
You give me fever (you give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (you give me fever)
Fever... In the mornin'
Fever all through the night

Sun lights up the day time
Moon lights up the night
I light up when you call my name
'Cause I know you're gonna treat me right
You give me fever (You give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (You give me fever)
Fever... In the mornin'
Fever all through the night (Wow!)

Everybody's got the fever
That is somethin' you all know
Fever isn't such a new thing
Fever started long time ago

(You give me fever)
Baby, turn on your love light (Yeah, yeah)
Let it shine on me (Yeah, yeah)
Well, baby, turn on your love light (Yeah, yeah)
And let it shine on me (Yeah, yeah)
Well, just a little bit higher (Yeah, yeah)
And just a little bit brighter, baby (Yeah, yeah)
Ow!

You give me fever (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You give me fever (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You give me fever (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You give me fever.

Romeo loved Juliet
Juliet she felt the same
When he put his arms around her
He said, "Julie baby you're my flame"
Thou givest fever when we kisseth
Fever with thy flaming youth
Fever I'm on fire
Fever yea I burn forsooth

Captain Smith and Pocahontas
Had a very mad affair
When her daddy tried to kill him
She said "Daddy oh don't you dare"
"He gives me fever with his kisses"
"Fever when he holds me tight"
"Fever, I'm his missus"
"Daddy won't you treat him right?"

Now you've listened to my story
Here's the point that I have made
Chicks were born to give you fever
Be it Fahrenheit or centigrade
We give you fever when we kiss you
Fever if you live and learn
Fever till you sizzle
What a lovely way to burn [Repeat x 4]

Song Meaning:Okay, everyone else who has commented are idiots.

This song isn't about a literal fever. It's about arousal. Fever means a sexual fervor. Basically, it's saying how this man instills within the narrator sexual desire, or in lamen's terms, it's saying how this guy is making the singer horny.

Even though John Smith and Pocahontas weren't sexually or even romantically involved and Romeo was in idiotic child going from girl to girl, and Juliet was naive, they're used as examples of sexual arousal between partners.

That's it. That is literally the meaning behind the song. It's just about being horny. It has nothing to do with illness or sickness or wars or any other crap everyone else before me has said. It's just about being horny.

General Comment:This goes out to my true friends and loved ones, the same men and women who called, texted, visited, and wanted to come take care of me when I was so sick. The fever has broken, thankfully. It is during such times that you learn who will be there for your always, and who is worthy of your love and friendship. Great song. Lots of artists have covered it, but I prefer this version.

General Comment:This is such a great song, especially when you're sick with fever (and hallucinations while you sleep:) It's a classic. It's about a woman whose temperature rises whenever her man holds her tight and kisses her. I think we all know that feeling; you can feel it rush through your entire body and settle in parts that just might get you in trouble:) Peggy was sizzling from her fever (her man!)

General Comment:I really liked this song from WoP, personally I think it's their best lyrically and musically so far. I think it has a deep meaning behind it. I think the whole song's about a war between the people against the government, and how he's going to survive it. it seems to make sense to me that way, i'm likely wrong but thats just my opinion :P

General Comment:this is a classic. Of course Pocahontas never had any romance with Captain Smith. She was 12 when the supposed incident took place, but she did marry an English guy later. Then she went to Europe where she caught pnumonia and died at 22. Peggys version is better I guess.

General Comment:A few different people have tackled this song, but for my money nobody does it like Peggy Lee. Her sultry voice, inflections, and timing, are perfect. One of those pieces you wish would go on for hours.
