Believe You Me Lyrics
People are walking
People are running People are waiting On a second coming Believe you me, I do believe (2x) People are laughing People are starving People divided 'Cause people crowded Believe you me, I do believe (2x) And I don't want to say no more today Oh, I don't want to hear no more today Hey, hey, I don't want to say no more Oh...oh... Ah, come on Can you feel it? (2x) Come on, oh! I do believe I feel it I do believe, and I feel it I feel it (30x) Uh-oh...uh-oh... It don't matter what, yea It only matters where My time has come To believe (3x) |

That is making reference to the Christian belief that Christ will one day return and claim his followers in what is known as "The Rapture." Whether or not that's what the subject is believing in isn't exactly clear. The song has religious overtones, but of course Vedder is not a religious man, and to our knowledge, never has been.

This is one of the better songs he did with Bad Radio, though. (I'm surprised this is even on the Pearl Jam page, frankly! Since it's really not Pearl Jam.) He's definitely evolved as a songwriter since this song, though!
