Bee girl, you're gonna die
You don't wanna be famous, you wanna be shy
Do your dances alone in your room
Becoming a star will become your doom
Bee Girl, be a girl... (2x)

You know time is long, and life is short, begin to live while you still can
Believe in nothing, believe me, those who can be trusted can change their mind
The anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time
Everything you imagined, needn't be stuck in your mind
Bee Girl, be a girl (2x)

General Comment:I'm so glad y'all mentioned the hidden track at the end of Lost Dogs, because I didn't realize it was there. I just went and listened to it. I'd never let it play through the empty space before because I had never played it in the car. Thanks.

General Comment:indeed, it is a blind melon reference and Vedder did a lovely job on the song. it is about fame causing your death. at the end of this song, on most CDs there is a hidden track called 4/20/02 and that song is about layne staley and his death due to fame and drugs.

General Comment:They recorded this song on the spot at a radio network called "Rockline" near Capitol Hill. The bassist brought his bass just in case if he had to play something. When Eddie asked him if he had anything, and what tune it was in, they just started playing.

General Comment:Thing song to me is about becoming famous without being ready for it. I do believe its about Shannon Hoon and his fame becoming huuuge within a short period of time eventually becoming his doom.

No the girl on the blind melon album is not Shannons daughter.. she was born just a couple weeks before he died I believe.

And Shannon is his middle name I believe, he used that name because his first name was the same as his fathers. Richard Shannon Hoon.

General Comment:That song at the end (the one that goes "so all you fools
who sing just like him") is called "4/20/02", and it's about Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. Layne was found dead on April 20th 2002.

General Comment:On my version of Lost Dogs (sunno if its the same on them all) this song is nearly 10 minutes, and at 6:03 another 'song' starts, but its would back up the 1st few ideas mentioned about Bee girl etc. the lyrics are summat like:

    so all you fools
    who sing just like him
fell free to do so now
    cause he's dead

    using using using
    using takes toll

    isolation
just so happy to be one.
    to be won

    sad to sad to think
sad to think of him all alone

    lonesome friend
    we all knew
    always home
    you drove through(?)

no blame no blame no blame
    it could be you
using you cant grow up using

so sing just like him, fuckers
    it wont offend him
    just me
    because he's dead.

General Comment:yep. the radio station was in washington dc. but earlier that day (or the day before maybe) eddie met the bee girl, and "was concerned for her" and so wrote these lyrics. then he sang them over the song he and jeff threw together for the radio show. Its all in the liner notes of lost dogs
