And the ripped ones say goodbye
While the others meet
Attached somewhere
At least they're shared
And the ripped ones never collide
While the others
While the others
While the others

Da da da da da da

4 9 5 3 1...
4 9 5 3 1...

Da da da da da da

4 9 5 3 1...
4 9 5 3 1...

General Comment:"Loro" is the formal plural form of "you" in Italian. Doubt that has anything to do with it though.

Song Meaning:The theme of this song seems to be loneliness. The term "ripped" is sometimes used to describe someone who is stoned, and I believe that the author is describing the life of 'stoners' who are stuck in a life of loneliness. The ripped ones are finding that their interactions with others are ending in goodbyes rather than in invitations and that they seem to never find other people whom they can be connected to. The ripped ones wish to feel "attached" and "shared", and they watch while the other 'normal' people have the relationships and the feelings that the ripped ones wish they could have and feel.

General Comment:"Loro" means "parrot" in Spanish...which reflects the repetitive (though sublime, nevertheless) spirit of the song.

General Comment:The numbers don't mean anything. I talked to Rob about them after a show in Chicago. He said that the numbers are a code to a game within a game, to program a game. Sophisticated joke, eh?

Song Meaning:thinking the whole "Dit Dit Dit Dit Dit Dit ...Dit Da Dit Da Da Dit Da Dit" scatting part of the song may be morse code.

    Translation:Loro means "they" in Italian.

I don't know if this has anything to do with their supposed obsession with WW1&2...?

General Comment:I believe this song could be about rain flowing out of a gutter and into a puddle. the ripples breaking off and attaching to other ripples.

General Comment:It is very possible 49531 is just there to make people think about what it means when it really means nothing, which is a statement in itself.

General Comment:They said on Talk of the Nation that whatever the numbers mean they don't mean Die California.
