Lyrics for All I've Got to Do as interpreted by Ice

All I've Got to Do Lyrics
Whenever I want you around, yeah
All I got to do
Is call you on the phone
And you'll come running home
Yeah, that's all I got to do
And when I want to kiss you, yeah
All I got to do
Is whisper in your ear the words you want to hear
And I'll be kissing you
And the same goes for me whenever you want me at all
I'll be here, yes I will, whenever you call
You just got to call on me, yeah
You just got to call on me
And when I want to kiss you, yeah
All I got to do
Is call you on the phone
And you'll come running home
Yeah, that's all I got to do
And the same goes for me whenever you want me at all
I'll be here, yes I will, whenever you call
You just got to call on me, yeah
You just got to call on me

Half of the 14 songs on WTB were a collaboration between John and Paul and written specifically for the album. However, AIG2D was written in 1961 by John. It was an attempt to redo Smokey Robinson, who he had previously tried to emulate in Ask Me Why, reminiscent of 1961's "What's So Good About Goodbye". This time, he had chosen to use "You Can Depend On Me" as his model.

One of the Beatles better early Motown-inspired efforts. Nice vocal from John.

Not even close to being married...but this will be my (and my husband's) main song :)

At first you hear a man bragging about how much his lady loves him; so much so that she will do whatever he wants, as long as he tells her.

But then he says, "And the same goes for me. Whenever you want me at all, I'll be here, yes I will, whenever you call. You just gotta call on me." That part always gets me teary-eyed! Combine it with the first part of the song, and it perfectly describes a true love match. A nice, little team in love, lol. You can call the words cheesy and overly simple, but they're really not. It's only a raw, honest description of two people in love.

I love the guitar too. It's a very Motown-inspired tune, but it also stands out. One of my top 10 favorite Beatles tunes.
