You only see what your eyes want to see
How can life be what you want it to be
You're frozen
When your heart's not open

You're so consumed with how much you get
You waste your time with hate and regret
You're broken
When your heart's not open

Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart
Mm, give yourself to me
Mm, you hold the key

Now there's no point in placing the blame
And you should know I suffer the same
If I lose you
My heart will be broken

Love is a bird, she needs to fly
Let all the hurt inside of you die
You're frozen
When your heart's not open

Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart
Mm, give yourself to me
Mm, you hold the key

You only see what your eyes want to see
How can life be what you want it to be
You're frozen
When your heart's not open

Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart
Mm, give yourself to me
Mm, you hold the key

Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart
Mm, give yourself to me
Mm, you hold the key

Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart
Mm, give yourself to me
Mm, you hold the key

If I could melt your heart

General Comment:Not a fan of her music or her style (I find her rather disgusting at times), but I am a huge fan of her independent spirit and her business smarts at a time when women (to be successful in the business) almost always had to rely on male managers who gave them little or no say as to what they would write, sing, produce, market, etc. Madonna, like Lauper, were cutting edge in the early 80's.

As for the song, these lines struck me: "Mm, if I could melt your heart
Mm, we'd never be apart. Mm, give yourself to me. Mm, you hold the key"

That only works when people are close...in proximity. It doesn't work with purely online or long-distance "relationships." It's too easy to "court" someone online or over the phone, etc. The real test of compatibility and love is being face-to-face AND facing the good times as well as the bad times together. Sometimes technology just plain sux, and with regard to love and relationships, it sux rocks!

General Comment:I am not a religious person and I don't really like saying I'm a spiritual person. I This song is very seductive and it's meant to be. All Satan ever wanted was for you to give yourself to it. It is a cancerous consciousness saying "Love me, follow me, I will give you whatever you want but I need you to follow me." It will suffer if it loses your soul and everything in this universe it the key to that. Very true. Satan will come in the name of God/LOVE and tell you how much it loves you. It will use anything good that LOVE made to get what it wants. It will give you pleasure and protect you from pain. Pain and pleasure are irrelevant next to the LOVE of God, and one will never know what that is until one experience it for one's self. I would never be able to explain it to anyone it's that good. Satan is a cancerous energy that exists in scalar reality from almost the highest level of LOVE to something smaller than the DNA in our bodies, so it is everywhere. It controls all the media, all academia, all religious and organized spiritual groups, all governments, and sad to say most music. I know what this song does to me as I love it. It's the strangest thing being seduced.

Memory:As I recall, beautiful and sad ballad Frozen is about Madonna's endless search for love, enlightenment and transcendence. She takes hold of The Unforgettable Fire-a U2 Reference because she's the Queen of the Slipstream-a van Morrison reference because it is here on Frozen-the crux on Ray of Light that Madonna discovers Soul and Namaste. She Still loves Sean and Guy but she can't have them anymore. Lady Madonna is crying in Wet Tears and Unconscionable Sadness. She Still Believes in Love but She is Beside Herself. Madonna Cries in Frozen "If I Could Melt Your
Heart(s)..."-and begins Crying alone and Sad. She lost her two Loves. Madonna's Heart is Broken. Still, Frozen is a beautiful song and a landmark concerto in Madonna's life. The video clip only enhances the ballad suspense. Frozen is Magnificent-No Line on Madonna's Horizon!

Song Meaning:Strange that people think that this song is about love.

To understand the song better one must watch the official video. The video shows madonna in death valley. she is presented as gothic witch. 1 in 3 or 3 in one. Video is very creepy and watching it one can understand it is anything but love.

Madonna represents Hecate, widely considered the goddess of witches. She is often represented in ancient times as having three faces or three heads (sometimes animal heads) or even three bodies, to denote the triplicity of her character and attributes (birth, love and death).

The dog (or more specifically, bitch) is the animal most commonly associated with Hecate, sometimes a three-headed dog. black dogs were once sacrificed to her in purification rituals. She was also believed to manifest herself as a dog, and the sound of barking dogs was often seen as the first sign of her approach.

You one see what your eyes want ..... frozen, when your heart's not open

    You only look at the things as you have been taught i.e the good and evil and how can you have enlightment unless you open your mind and heart;

figure out the rest of the song meaning yourself. Its really satan calling to people.

My Interpretation:This is really about the spiritual path: the enlightenment.

The one speaking (singing) is our real self. Or the god within each and everyone of us, if you prefer.

    Namaste.

General Comment:"How can life be what you want it to be" , "you're so consumed with how much you get, waste your time with hate and regret"

I dont think this song has to be all about love. It can be other things in life, things you have done/not have done, you want it all and you are not satisfied with what you've got, and you've been hurt in your life - it doesnt necessarily have to be about love. You're to busy thinking about your past and what could have been, that you're missing out that life is happening NOW, and what you got and what you CAN have.

Maybe I'm wrong but I interpret this song like this, cause then I can relate to it, feels like she's singing about me..

But I think you're always free to interpret songs however you want to.

But Im so sick and tired that ALL songs always has to be about love. Ye, love is nice, but is not EVERYTHING.

General Comment:As Letmein said, the person singing is supposed to be God. This is not meant to be a love song in the traditional sense.

The reference to being frozen is about people not being open to their connection with God.

She addresses the eternal question of "why do bad things happen to good people?" by explaining that God "suffers the same", because our spirit is a part of God and he feels what we feel. When we return to God we rejoice because our suffering in this life informs our eternal existence.

When she says "if i lose you, my heart will be broken" she means God is always calling to us, wishing us to follow the guidance provided by our soul, but we often ignore our soul and do things that make us deeply unhappy. Like trying to live up to a parent's high expectations to study law, when what we deeply want is to travel the world and live on measly sum.

The reference to "let all the hurt inside of you die" is a message about forgiveness, which allows to let go of our hate. That hate drives us away from God, because we feel shame for holding such a negative emotion. When we hate, we hide from God, like a child in fear of a parent after misbehaving. Forgiveness, a "melting" of the heart, is what brins us back to God, what allows us to come into contact with him through our own soul, and live the life we want to live.

Song Meaning:You only see what your eyes want you to see...you dont see reality as it is...but rather as you wish it were...thus for you everything is perfect but it is not really perfect is crumbling down all around you...how can life be what you want it to be your frozen when your hearts not open...you have fear in your heart...you dont want to get hurt so you become cold and obivious to what is really happening all around you despite the fact that it may not be what you want it to be...the first step is to accept the reality then...work towards changing it...you waste your time with hate and regret...you wate your mind and time thnknig about the past...all tha bad things that happened...and all the bad stuff that others did to you...instead of forgeting it and giving the future a chance.., to realize your dreams. your broken when your hearts not open...you think your strong because you are cold and oblivious to the real world around you but the truth is you are broken and defeated because you lie to yourself and things wont get better unless you give them a chance and take the risk to get hurt...if i could melt your heart(until)...you are the key...no one else can set you free but yourself for i cant set you free fron your icy dungeon (melt your heart) unless you give yourself to me...(preferably fall in love...) I think this is a song she wrote to herself about her past problems and stuggles that hold her in her icy dungeon but she really wishes just to be warm and held and be set free...thats my opinion don.knw...so wat u think?

My Interpretation:I think this song is about love but also it's about Satanism. It doesn't always have to be about someone in a relationship. You can make up stories, and try to change it to suit your own story all you want. The truth is...

There are a lot of Satanic references in this song. Not saying that is a bad thing, I'm just saying... There are hidden messages for those of us who know how to look just a little bit deeper. ;)
