Axl said in an interview that when they were recording the original Don't Cry, he all of a sudden just thought of these lyrics and they just all came together so he had to record this version as well.

i had never really read those lyrics and thort about it but they r fucking good lyrics. but im too young and wasnt old enoff to member them wen they were together so wat was it like with them releasing singles and albums and being interviewed and wat not.


P.S. Slash is so hardcore and i saw velvet revolver and he still rocks and ne1 who hasnt got duff's solo album beleive in me shood buy it. it is awesome and also i got 1 of duffs picks at velvet revolver. wat guns n' roses shit do all u have i wanna no?

im also too young to have seen them all in the flesh! lol. slash's guitar solos in some of their songs are so good! i like the alt lyrics for this song better too. its a good song

this song..well it means a lot to me...wont say its the story of my life...but relates a lot to my life and a girl i know...
The first time i actualy heard this song it got me goosebumps...Each line has a lot of meaning to it..Well the first two..The guy is sayin dat he's been waitn arnd for a long tym and he would want to see the girls future wid him if he can...then,he says dat all the sadness he's been goin thru is jus too much,no one can live lyk dis..dat she can see...he says that the times that she was confused abt wat to do in lyf are back now...he wants to her to be confused in his case..He says after all that has happened he is the one that is taking care of everything she is doing and justifying her in every way even though he aint the one she's with..2nd verse..He says he knows watever she wanted,but she doesnt have'em..With everyone talking crap in her head its driving her insane,then he asks..if he was the one for her then how would she feel??..Even after knowing that her love is for someone else..Then a cliche line.."ALL LOVE IS REAL"..sayn even his love for her is real......He then says that as all the days went by he had a hope of bein wid her..But with everyone talking crap about him not being able to get her,the hope has died..Then...He says...Whenever she needs someone he wont deny her..She's jus like him..Lonely..She'll still have him to cry to but when the sadness strikes there is no one left in the world for the guy to cry to...Don't know if i described the song or my life...I dont know...this song just gets to me..After writing all this,now i can say...'This is the story of my life'

I just saw GnR a few nights ago here in Australia. Amazing show!!! Axl is close to his best singing wise, his stage presence and frontman ability is brilliant!! The band is amazing together, the guitarists work very well together, in particular Bumblefoot and Robin Fink. They are a very tight band and a must see if you have the chance!

Both versions of this song are amazing! Don't Cry is probably my fave gunners song, maybe just behind Sweet Child. I love the way Axl sings this part:
