You know that feeling you get
You feel you´re older than time
You ain´t exactly sure
If you´ve been away a while

Do you keep the receipts
For the friends that you buy
And ain´t it bittersweet
You were only just getting by

But I hope you know
That it won´t let go
It sticks around with you until the day you die
And i hope you know that it´s touch and go
I hope the tears don´t stain the world that waits outside
Where did it all go wrong?

And until you´ve heard
The dreams you bought for your lies
You´ll be castaway
Alone under the stormy skies

But I hope you know
That it won´t let go
It sticks around with you until the day you die
And i hope you know that it´s touch and go
I hope the tears don´t stain the world that waits outside
Where did it all go wrong?

General Comment:My opinion is that this song is about drug addiction and recovery. It makes sense to me since Noel was struglling with drug addiction at the time, and there are plenty of drug references in the song

    'Do you keep the receipts
for the friends that you buy'

    'But I hope you know
    that it won't let go
it sticks around with you until the day you die'

    'And until you've repaid
the dreams you bought for your lies'

General Comment:first time listening to this song made me cry. "where did it all go wrong?"
It touched my heart, 'cause maybe now my life is messed up, by myself.

I think this song about ....when it come to that point, accept the reality, but don't be obsessed with it, don't let the despond blind you from the world that wait for you to get a life.

General Comment:Yeah SOTSOG was typically underated, just like BHN, DBTT and HC
because it had nothing that hit you instantly. But the album has some great subtle songs that you come back on. Gas Panic, Who Feels Love, Roll It Over etc... Are all great songs.....

    "do you keep the reciepts
for the friends that you buy"

    The best song of SOTSOG

General Comment:Great, great great song, great lyrics and vocals from Noel. Once again, "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giant" was so underrated it really pisses me off. This one, plus "Sunday Morning Call", plus "Gas Panic!", and the lovely "Who Feels Love" just make that album, a bunch of very deep and introspective songs.
