Genius. Insomniac has to be one of Green Day's best albums, because every song is relatable to someone at one point in they're life(even Geek Stink Breath, if you re-interpretate away from the speed theme).

firstly, id just like to say to miss TENDOLLARSOCKS, well done for looking into the bathroom thing. i hope your life is a little more interesting now, or should i say, i hope you have aquired one. secondly, i think this is a good song, but i cant really comment on it cos i dont relate to it, but i can see how other people could.

There is a show on the radio called "Adventures in Odyssey" Saturday mornings at 9:30 eastern, or listen at whitsend.org. On this show, Eugene is marrying Katrina. Her father's name is Armatage Shanks. Is this a coincidence that her father is the name of a Green Day song or a toilet?

just to point this out - if you really want to chart Green Day's maturation over the years, listen to Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning in a row. "Armatage Shanks," the first song on Insomniac is about pessimism and dispair, and "Macy's Day Parade," the last track on Warning, is about hope. From pessimism to hope in 3 albums.

I totally can relate to this song. The toliet thingy is true because in out old school we had a set of sinks made by armatage shanks but perhaps. The whole tolietthingy is probably somthing to do with him feeling like shit, which reminds me even more of my old school toliets which were completely dank and depressing. It's just a song about how he thinks he is viewed by society. It's just a song baout feeling totally down and depressed really.

can i just say thanku 2 whoever thot of this toilet theory,now every time i hear this song ill think of billie joe on the loo!! not the best of thoughts. lol. i had those toilets at my primary school(dont ask y i can remember that) wierd stuff. still, a good (and random) song huh?! high 5 green day, u can take absoulutely anything and make sumthing good out of it - this song being the proof...
