And if you say your prayers
You will make God happy
And if you do what's true
You will make me happy
I'll keep you in a jar
And you will seem happy
I'll give you breathing holes
You will think you're happy, now
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
And if you save yourself
You will make him happy
He'll bring you fine rewards
Then you will feel happy
I'll keep you in my room
I'm sure you'll be happy
And if you save your soul
You will think you're happy, now
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You will make God happy
And if you do what's true
You will make me happy
I'll keep you in a jar
And you will seem happy
I'll give you breathing holes
You will think you're happy, now
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
And if you save yourself
You will make him happy
He'll bring you fine rewards
Then you will feel happy
I'll keep you in my room
I'm sure you'll be happy
And if you save your soul
You will think you're happy, now
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room
You're in a laundry room

As a side note, Krist Novoselic referred to this song as Kurt's Magnum opus; he had so many versions, because he could not make the song exactly the way he wanted it.
My favorite version is the one found on Sliver: The Best of the Son.
my version says "make him happy"
but i've heard theres 2 versions..
i thought it was about a relationship with a partner who controls the other too much..
does anyone know why they changed "god" to "him"?
too controversial maybe??
i love love love love it.
this is one of my favourite nirvana songs.
No, this isn't the Sliver version. This is the one from the Barnyard Demos (Labeled on tape as "Mellow 4-Track Shit") where Cracker (Polly) was first recorded also.
