She seems to think
She seems too weak.
She takes a week to get over it.
She likes the sea.
She likes to see.
She likes to think she has all of it.
She likes the sound.
She likes the sand.
She likes to stand, she can't afford to sit.
She likes to be.
She likes to be.
She likes to be.
She's into guilt.
Guilt. [x3]
She likes to think
She likes to drink.
She seems too weak, she takes all the rent.
She likes the time.
She owns the time.
She borrows time to self-invent.
She seems too weak.
She likes to see.
She likes to think she has all of it.
She likes the sand.
She likes to stand.
She likes to sit.
She likes to go.
Go. [x3]
She likes to go.
Go. [x7]

General Comment:I fucking love this song. As for the meaning, I think it is about a lady who murdered her husband and is feeling guilty. This is a long description, but bear with me:

She seems to think, she seems too weak.
She takes a week to get over it

She tries to convince herself that she didn't actually mean to kill him, it was merely an accident, to sooth her guilt. She tells herself she is "too weak" to actually kill someone on purpose, and this wracks her brain for the first week after the murder.

She likes the sea, she likes to see.
She likes to think she has all of it
She likes the sound, she likes the sand
She likes to stand, she can't afford to sit

She tries to take walks by the sea to calm her down. She is feeling so confused, angry, and guilty that she can't even sit down. She has "all of it" because her husband is no longer there. She now has 100% ownership of everything he used to own.

She likes to be, she likes to be
She likes to be, she's into guilt
    Guilt [x3]

She secretly feels proud of her accomplishment deep down inside. She may also relish her seemingly now-fake guilt, which means she might have possible masochistic tendencies. She also enjoys living (she "likes to be"), but feels she does not deserve to live due to taking the life of her husband.

She likes to think, she likes to drink.
She seems too weak, she takes all the rent

Making money is harder for her since she killed her husband – she now must give twice as much of her salary to the rent, because they used to each pay half. She's also developing an alcohol problem in trying to drown her guilt.

She likes the time, she owns the time.
    She borrows time to self-invent
She seems too weak, she likes to see
She likes to think she has all of it

Time, for her, flows much more slowly for her than for the average person – a common symptom of intense guilt. She then takes advantage of this time-changing effect, thinking she can get more tasks done because time is slower for her. However, she can only complete half as much because her husband is dead, thus she now "feels too weak" again, and she comes to the realization she'll have to work more without someone else supporting her now and then.

She likes the sand, she likes to stand.
She likes to sit, she likes to go.
    Go [x3]

She attempts to flee to another town or country when the police start catching on that she killed him. On the airplane journey, she sits, as she was afraid to in the sea verse, a metaphorical description of how she now thinks she's free of the guilt and depression.

She seems to think, she seems too weak
She takes a week to get over it
She likes the sea, she likes to see
She likes to think she has all of it
She likes the sound, she likes the sand
She likes to stand, she can't afford to sit
She likes to be, she likes to be.
She likes to be, she likes to go.
    Go [x7]

Once again the guilt sets in, and the police in that city come for her, so she moves somewhere else again. She is now trapped in a vicious cycle of guilt.

There's my explanation. Hope you like it!

General Comment:The song is about Tobi Vail his ex.

He loved her but she never loved him back. Alot of songs on nevermind are about her aswell.

General Comment:I think he just wanted to stick a bunch of sentences together. You know he didn't always take himself too seriously...that's why it's funny when other people do. The puns are great, though. It's an unreleased track, I believe on With The Lights Out (not sure) though I do know it's on Sliver, which I rented from the library and I must say this song is very addicting.

General Comment:From the looks of it, Go Hash Browns seems to be the most correct.

You know, "she takes a week to get over it".

Then she tries to ignore the pain she's been inflicted by fooling herself that she has all of it. Great song right here....
