This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I'm really close tonight
And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
An' I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
Words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Go, I'll be waiting when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
Whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall
Whenever I fall
And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
An' I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
Words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Go, I'll be waiting when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
Whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall
Whenever I fall

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Holiday
Bee Gees
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Blue
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
To me it's a song about being willing to hang around and wait for the person you love to come to love you, even though there's a chance they never will.
'I'm really close tonight And I feel like I'm moving inside her Lying in the dark I think that I'm beginning to know her Let it go I'll be there when you call' He feels that he knows this person more than anyone else does or ever will, and he's lying in the dark thinking about her. 'I feel like I'm moving inside her' could mean that he knows her well enough to see things from her perpective, to live her life alongside her with the insight he has. There's also the obvious sexual connotations, of course.
'Go, I'll be waiting when you call'- she has other relationships, she's away from him, but he's going to stick around anyway, just on the offchance.
And I'm more than willing to offer myself Do you want my presence or need my help Who knows where that might lead
I think that these are the central lines to this song- the point at which the other images all come together and he establishes his point. They're certainly my favourite lines anyway. I think the song's about him being in love with someone who may or may not return his feelings, but either way I get the feeling they're not together. But anyway, he worships her and falls at her feet every time she calls to him, and pride isn't even an issue. Possibly my favourite song ever.
my god, in my filthy teenage mind, i first thought it was about having sex with someone that you loved, actually really loved. upon actually looking at the lyrics, i can see that maybe his girlfriend/wife has distanced herself from him, for whatever reason, but he's still there for her, if she needs
this is such a sad song about a man and a woman not ready to commit but confused as to where each of them stands
Seems to be a curve ball idea but I'm surprised there's only one other comment related to pregnancy. This is definitely a song from a child's perspective to it's mother. Possibly even about a premature termination such as a miscarriage.
This really is a briljant song which i have listened to over and over again. I think its about a man trying to comfort a woman (cause her man cheated on her, she is in pain). And then "the finger of blame has turned upon itself". They make the same mistake. Briljant.
Two responses to such a brilliant song, Neil Finn is in my opinion the geatest songwriter of our time, and this is his finest.
Again, a great song with so few responses. I think it's about a man comforting a woman. I feel like ' The finger of blame has turned upon itself' is about her blaming herself. This song makes me think about how my man's always been there for me.
I think this is about a single man in a relationship with a married woman. He's trying to talk himself out of loving her, but can't help himself falling at her feet.
She cries with him because she doesn't know what to do, and is in love with both him and her husband. The finger of blame is her feeling terrible guilt about hurting him and betraying her husband.
The second verse is about her pulling away from him, maybe to try and fix her marriage. But he knows she'll be back in touch and he'll wait for her. It's very very depressing!
Actually, I've changed my mind! I think the 'finger of blame' line is him saying he blames himself for being the cause of her anguish, where previously he blamed her for hurting him. He loves her so much he will 'offer' himself in any way way she wants him.
Omg you guys have it all wrong. I am surprised none of you have gotten it yet.
This is about his mum and i am not joking.
Listen and read the lyrics.
It is about giving birth. And meeting his mother for the first time.
Im really close tonight... Shes about to give birth
And i feel like im moving inside her
Lying in the dark, and i feel like im beginning to know her...
Let it go... Ill be there when she calls.
And whenever i fall at your feet.... You let your tears rain down on me....
